This App is ok, but not the best. It is not as comprehensive as I would like. For example, in Mandarin there is more than one way of saying 'week', this dictionary only shows you one way (星期). It also shows you phrases using the characters you have searched for (this is good), but without giving you the pinyin. On top of this you can't select the characters from the phrases shown to search for them on their own either. This means you have to write the character down on paper, then copy it using the character drawing pad - which can be tricky on an iPhone if you're bad at writing characters, then you can search for it. You can select some characters shown, but only the emboldened ones (as shown in the first screen shot), which aren't necessarily the ones you want. If you live in a country with free 3G/wi-fi connection that is fast, I might recommend sticking a direct link to Google Translate in your app menu instead. Less expensive, probably just as useful.
