USC chem 108 lab

Awesomeity on

Had to use this for chem lab in like basically all the chem labs. Don’t think the measurements r accurate, but hey still getting a 10/10 on those lab reports and that’s all that matters

Useful but limited

The app provides color data for either a center point in the camera view or in an image. Accuracy is limited by the iPhone's automatic white balance, so if the image or scene you're looking at isn't already well lit and color balanced, this app will give you inaccurate results. I tried this out to see if it could be used for a rudimentary color calibration on my monitor. It's OK for balancing r/g/b on a pure white screen at 6500k, but there is no way to know how the auto white balance is throwing off the measurements. Ads are not intrusive, but do track you. If the author can find a way around the auto white balance problem and disable tracking, this could be a useful app. If the author allowed you to calibrate the camera part of the app with reference objects (such as camera calibration cards) this could potentially be used for very basic, very rudimentary monitor color calibration.

Idk
