Colorwood Sort Puzzle Game Reviews

Too many adds and no levels for gaining helps/reverse moves/clearing the unseen blocks

Amulya0410 on

India

Question no:1 - What type of a game will have this many adds? Question no:2 - For unlocking the locked blocks/undoing the step/revealing the locked boxes, atleast there should be a level or winning each 10 -15 levels, the respective helps will be given in other games. How foolish in this game….for each level before during and after these many adds are being played. When playing this game seriously it is like installed the game for seeing adds and in between a bit game. It is feeling like that. If possible do the needful changes ASAP

Great game with overbearing ads

I absolutely adore this game. The visuals are charming, the gameplay is relaxing, and the sound design is incredibly soothing. However, the sheer number of ads completely ruins the experience. After every single level you are interrupted by a forced ad, breaking the peaceful flow that makes the game so enjoyable in the first place. Developers, please, I’m begging you: add an option to pay to remove ads. I genuinely love playing this game, but if the ad situation doesn’t improve, I’ll have no choice but to delete it. I really don’t want to, but the frustration is starting to outweigh the joy. This game has so much potential to be a perfect escape, and I hope the developers consider this feedback seriously. Also an ad on.. do not reply to me with the same "i wish I could get rid of ads forever but we need ads to make a profit" that is not how you handle things as a developer. Do better and actually listen to your consumers.

It’s alright

It’s a fun game, don’t get me wrong, but there’s is a lot of adds and when you thru to stack the blocks I can’t stack, lets say I want to put a green block on a purple block, it won’t let me. But in the ad that got to download this “wonderful” app I could stack a color on another color. I just sometimes get annoyed when an ad plays and it seems so great but when you actually download it it’s like a whole new game. There are some stuff same from the ad but the developer just changed a few things. Overall it’s a fun game but I just think it needs some changes.

Scummy Money-grab tactics

Update: I am removing a star because the game has new bugs now. So even when you do watch their extra long ads in order to get extra undos, sometimes the undo just fails to happen. And it doesn’t matter if you restart the app, the undo doesn’t happen but the number of undos you have left still goes down. So you watch all these ads just to not get any reward for it. The only thing that works to fix it is restarting the whole level and since they chain 3 games in a row as the same level, you have to replay the 3 previous levels again even the ones you won already. Such a terribly thought-out idea already when the app works but it is made so much worse by the bugs. I will keep using the many alternative versions of sort games instead which are less manipulative and less buggy. Original Review: This is a very well designed and pretty app, so it gets 2 stars for that. However, it loses the rest of the stars for basically everything else. As others have said, it’s overrun with ads. I love these types of games where you rearrange blocks/balls so I have several and play them all. Most of them give you 5 undos at each level. This one gives you 5 for the entire game. If you run out, you have to watch even more long ads to get only 3 extra undos. And they never give you anymore free ones for as long as you play the game. Okay, sure, let’s just play without undos, I’ll just restart the level instead of undoing when I get stuck. That worked for a while, but then they started making “stages”. These are just the same thing as levels but they arbitrarily decide to group 3 different levels as 1 level, so let’s say you get stuck at the 3rd “stage” of a level and have to restart it, it makes you redo the last 2 that you already won. This is completely unnecessary and clearly only there to force you to watch more ads if you don’t want to replay the last 3 levels over and over. I totally get that ads are how these games make money and completely respect that. But at some level, these tactics to make you watch more and more ads become very obviously scummy and manipulative. I feel like I’m just watching a series of ads with an occasional game in between. When other games are able to give you the same thing with less ads, it’s clear that this game is just a money grab with no regard for user experience.
