This is by far the most realistic sounding and feeling piano instrument for iOS. Despite earlier velocity issues I experienced with the Japanese Grand model, which have been fixed, I went on and bought the Concert Grand and really enjoyed it. I must say it is a little bright for my taste on the higher velocities, but I couldn’t stop playing once I started. I packs a punch and will probably also stand out in a band context.
The Concert Grand is absolutely the best iOS piano there is at the moment. However... The Concert Grand shows a sustain pedal issue when connected to Roland keyboards. I have tested the Concert Grand with the brand new Roland FP-30 and a Roland RD700NX. The velocity of softly played notes is strongly reduced when the sustain pedal is pressed which makes it useless. Notes played harder are played in a normal way. The Concert Grand works fine with a Yamaha CP40. Strangely enough, the Roland pianos don't show any problems with the Crudebyte CMP pianos. Although the support of Crudebyte was great, they where not able to find a solution for this problem. That made me ask for a refund...
You should give a free piano sound to encourage us to purchase more ?
Reverb options only?? Come on guys, add a basic chorus effect to use with the CP80! I know you can do it!
Ok, so, first and foremost the acoustic pianos are really some of the best on iOS. If you’re looking for a useable upright in particular, this is the place to get it. There are not really deep uprights on IOS. The stand-alone app is great, though minimalistic. The focus is definitely on the samples. What will get me to 5 stars? The AU is … well it’s glitchy. I have issues occasionally with it not loading properly in my hosts (KeyStage and AUM). Once the AU glitches out, you have to close the whole host program and reload it all again, not just reload Colossus. Has to be something with the stream from disk if I’m to take a guess. Also, the AUv3 interface is WAY scaled back from the standalone. That’s a huge miss for using it. There aren’t a lot of options to begin with, but some of the more interesting functionality is built around them — trance slicer, the modulation, pad level, etc. Bring the functionality to AUv3 and track down your glitches, I’ll pop to 5 stars.
Lots of character and long evolving sounds throughout the decay. Still my favorite piano app.
I bought the Baby piano for 26$ and When I opened the app i can’t use it and the keep asking me to buy it again, They will stole ur money like what they did to me
I really love the sounds - I’ve downloaded 2 pianos so far and I’m really enjoying the nuances in the samples. It’s a bit annoying that once I purchase a piano, there’s no way to find the name of that particular instrument (I have the black grand and the red grand, which I think are German/American and Japanese?). The layout of the app is... OK. They could use some UX designers to make the layout cleaner. The biggest disappointment is that it doesn’t show up as an option in iOS GarageBand to use as an external instrument. I’ve been looking for a great piano sound to bring into some of my iOS produced music, but I guess I’ll have to keep looking.
When you download an app that doesn’t charge but then you need to do an additional download for $50 for it to work , I’m out. I don’t mind paying for a good app but you better tell me how front. If the ap is that good it doesn’t need to be deceptive.
