I get a service error when trying to log in. When I try to register the app crashes upon clicking the register button. There is no functionality to this app that works for signing in and retrieving your tickets.

The booking process needs major revamping. For instance, why does one need to pay before seat selection? And the seat selection map is disorganized and the actual seat selection process doesn’t work.

I live in Portugal and ride CP from time to time, and often use the app to book. This review is about the app, not the train experience. (iPhone 13 Pro w/ iOS16) App works properly for booking. The UI is well-designed. You will get prices for both 1st and 2nd class in your search results (CP website does not, and only provides the price for the class of service you searched for.) App quickly displays all options for a given route and shows travel time for each in the list of results. You can click a specific train and see where it stops. Ticketing is straightforward, though a little laborious with all the info they require. The app may or may not function w Apple Wallet, idk because I don't care about that. The ticket displays in the app which you can show the personnel to scan. Don't be deterred from getting this app even if you're just visiting Portugal and may never use it again. It's also good just to quickly see your options - you can purchase at the station from an attendant very easily. The app works well - disregard all the haters here. (And yes, you cannot buy a ticket within 15 mins of departure. That is not an app failure; that is a silly CP policy that they should change.)

Unreliable! Don’t trust the platform numbers. Always check with information or ticket clerk. It showed us a specific platform number but the train was replaced by bus for the first portion of the ride. This was in place for THREE YEARS for this specific train on a specific day. No alert in the app or when you get to the station! Idiotic or just lazy - your call!

Other reviewers are correct. There IS a blackout time. You must purchase your ticket more than 15 minutes before you board I was told by a train attendant. However, We tried buying tickets a day before, then a few hours before, and from two different phones we kept getting an error and the app would crash.

If they don’t have Wallet functionality, why even have the button? It’s very frustrating, and means I can’t just buy a ticket for my wife and have her travel without me.

This is much better than the website, but no matter what I do to add the tickets to Apple Wallet, I get “communication error” and it doesn’t add them. Fix this and I’ll change to 5 stars because otherwise it’s great.
