Common Sense Media

This app is too “politically correct” and doesn’t flag same sex content in its reviews. Many parents want to know if this content exists when researching shows or movies and Common Sense Media will let you down. I’m finding another solution and canceling my subscription.

Ever since launch of the app, I can’t log in to it. Worse: I’ve got no response from Common Sense Media staff about it. I immediately reported the inability to log in after I got an email inviting me to try their new app a year or so ago, got no responses.

I appreciate the work that goes into reviewing movies, books, etc. It helps inform me so I can make better decisions concerning the content I want to consume.

Gives me the info I’m looking for.

The movie and show ratings are always reduced and negative if the main character is a non POC. They even proudly proclaim this racism.

you have to pay 40 dollars a year to read what’s written. i don’t like it.

I was looking up some shows that my kids were watching. The review is very superficial, noting that hardly anything had educational value. While I'm aware this is true of a majority of television is shallow, the review didn't match the show. After a few reviews, I hit a paywall. The little content I was able to access did not make me wanting to pay for full access.

It lets you what movies, games, books, 📺 shows and songs.

We’ve been using this website for five years. And I’m so grateful for it. I don’t let my children watch anything with out checking a review first. And now I am writing reviews to help other parents.

I have relied on Common Sense Media to help guide me since my children were little. they also help me figure out various gaming platforms like Minecraft Roblox. In fact, if it weren’t for Common Sense Media, my children would have none of these games. Not only does Common Sense Media share credible reviews, they also give tutorials how to set up parental monitoring on gaming platforms. I’m so grateful for this resource, I tell every parent I know.
