Great update for international holdings.. but

abcdefghijoe on

Australia

It’s great that many months after the CEO announced international holdings integration into the app, we can finally take 1 baby step to see our holdings. One thing though, the ASX holdings can be tapped through to view the list of holdings whereas the international holdings requires you to tap on the ellipsis to view the list of holdings. It’s a confusing design choice. Also, after such a long time, we still can’t purchase and sell international shares in the app. You guys are the biggest bank in Australia right? You’re making a nice margin on customers by just slapping a commsec logo on IBKR, the least that can be done is to make the experience seamless for customers instead of throwing them to another website. Other banks that offer international trading don’t have such an amateur app behaviour.

Poorly designed from a bank that makes billions

WhiteEvo6 on

Australia

How can one of the largest banks in the country make such a poor app? Why is international trading not kept inside the app, why does it need to open to a website and that website is to be blunt, hot garbage. I use E-broker for my SMSF and that app is light years ahead of Commsec, international and local stocks all in one app, its fast it looks modern and it also shows me all the info I want, is it perfect no but its 100x better than this app from a bank with profits that likely exceed most of the others in the top 20 combined. Lazy is the only way you can describe this app design. I’d say use the website but its from the dark ages as well. I feel like The Commonwealth bank believes it is so big it doesn’t think it needs to try, its blocking customers buying Crypto due to fear of becoming obsolete arguing its for “Our Protection”. It’s closing banks making everyone go online, its making it impossible to talk to humans for those that struggle with the internet. This apps is just another example of why they have bigger issues to worry about than Crypto currencies, it seems they are under the impression they don’t need to try and keep customers so they provide us this. …………….Clearly they are mistaken.

Bad buggy app

Block Letters on

Australia

I don’t recommend this app, it has bugs. For example, it displays a daily decline in my share portfolio before trading has even opened. Also, if you create a watch list, there’s no option to view the portfolio value, only individual stocks.

How to hide an account

Atskon on

Australia

On loading the app, commsec forces the default to be my pocket account and not the one I use of trading. It’s so annoying. There’s no way to hide an account or to select my default account to be used. This is a nightmare for users

Commsec app newsfeed

High BP on

Australia

What’s happened to the Newsfeed in the Commsec app? I don’t get any news from shares in my watch list as I did before and don’t get all the news from my portfolio either. Very frustrating to go in to each share to find the news, when there is a newsfeed tab available. Otherwise a useful app. Could do with a bit more financial information within the app.

What a stupid update

Newsfeed broken

Only receive Newsfeed updates for the same 2 stocks in my watch list. Tried deleting app and reinstalling but only still ignores all the other stocks.

Needs Significant Improvement

2KyouNEED2update on

CommSec's mobile app is a stark embodiment of digital lethargy, presenting users with a barren interface that could only be described as a visual snooze-fest. Its uninspired design and monochromatic scheme evoke the excitement of watching paint dry, failing to engage users in any meaningful way. The app's lack of interactive features is a glaring omission, rendering the experience as static and lifeless as a printed stock report from the pre-internet era. Navigating through the app feels like a maze designed by someone who flunked User Interface 101, with data displayed in a manner that is as unintuitive as it is unhelpful. In the fast-paced world of stock trading, where split-second decisions are the norm, CommSec's app lags woefully behind its competitors, who have embraced innovation and user-centric design. It's a digital relic in an age of technological marvels, a testament to what happens when complacency takes the driver's seat in app development.

New widget ugh

Smudgyqwerty on

Australia

Have to say, really hate the new 2-column widget. Please, at least give the option of 1 row per stock. Code, price, $ change, % change. The update as at March 2024 is a mess, and doesn’t even have the option to turn off dark mode.

Thank you for the update to new widgets!
