Can’t change kilometers and magnetic north
I bought the pro edition a few years back and now am being prompted to pay to remove ads. Next it will be a monthly charge. No thanks.
On iPhone 13 pro with 1 GB fiber, no internet? Needs fixed. Tried turning off wireless, VPN and more -no go.
With the latest more-or-less recent update today, this app is evidently still being maintained; but, not well-maintained. The prominent weather tab feature still currently doesn’t work: it still spuriously reports, “No Internet Connection”. A very prominent camera tab feature (repeatedly) doesn’t properly switch from “High” or “Max” settings back to “Norm”, without one closing and reopening the app. The compass dial seems to sometimes jump around or present distracting jitter, that can make it difficult to obtain a clear reading. (However, I don’t know whether more smoothing of the dial motion would be helpful or ultimately beneficial in actually obtaining accurate and precise readings.) [For example (oldest devices): iPhone 5s, latest version of iOS 12.] Today, on the latest app version released today, on another, auxiliary App Store account, the in-app purchase to remove ads on an iPad mini 2 (iOS 12) required two purchase attempts (with the password confirmed entered correctly both times), and then also a restore of the successful purchase, before the app actually registered that the purchase had been made. (Similar unbelievably ridiculous behavior was previously reported in the field on other accounts, but not confirmed by me until now.) Also, it would sometimes be very, very helpful if this app could rotate to display in landscape mode on iPads, and on iPhone + and iPhone Max models, but annoyingly, it still does not. I originally bought copies of this “Pro” version of this app for the personal App Store accounts of each and every member of our team, so we would all have a consistent compass app for use on our iPhones, iPads, iPad Pros, and iPad minis, particularly for use in emergencies; and so we wouldn’t have to deal with in-app purchases, and restoring in-app purchases after changing to new devices. That turns out to have been a poor decision on my part. This “Pro” app version was later changed, such that it now requires an in-app purchase, otherwise its practical use is crippled by overwhelming ads. That became an unacceptably severe hinderance and distraction during an emergency, because either the added in-app purchase had not yet been made on individual accounts (or had been expired/replaced by the developer?), or had not yet been restored since the last device swaps and/or device backup restores, etc. In an emergency, a compass is something that simply ought to just work. (At least as a compass!) Not require fiddling with making,
All and all a very good app. However for some reason the weather section of the app suddenly decided to stop working. It keeps saying i have no internet connection. Which i do. So what’s up? Also absolutely no help or support to even report a problem.
where I am on the East coast Magnetic north should be 11 degrees left of true north. In LA magnetic north is to the right of true north. Magnetic north is over Canada.
A nice compass BUT holy over the top intrusive ads. Forced ads like you’ve never seen before on any other app. Basically it’s unusable in the free version. If you don’t intend on forking over $3 to upgrade don’t even bother trying it.
I downloaded this app to both my iPad and iPhone. Lined up side by side the readings disagree by more than 80-degrees. Not sure what the problem is, but seems most inaccurate on the iPad when comparing to other compass apps.
The magnetic north still doesn’t work..! Apparently nobody reads these reviews..! This is the worse app for getting any help.
The reason for the one star review is the spamming of ads it’s so annoying and I would never use it in the wild because of the ads
