Family sharing for in-app purchases

SCOTTKF on

This is an excellent app and I can feel my ability increasing gradually even though I believed I would stay tone-deaf forever. There is actually hope! I am wondering if it is possible to enable family sharing for the in-app purchase of this app though?

Classic trainer needs work

Mark1406 on

I like the ear training side of the app, though I wish I had control of the speed which you hear the notes. Often you'll need to repeat the interval to properly hear it. There also appears to be a lot of harmonic content on the timbre of the notes. It would be nice to start with sine waves which have no harmonic content. The classic trainer I found to be hopeless, I identified the correct notes but somehow it wasn't correctly entered into the app. For this reason I gave up on this side of the app as it's useless if you can't enter your answer.

Having trouble recognising octave in the app

Eumir Deo on

I download the app to give it a try, I was playing the first part - melodic interval recogniton of m3 (minor third) and P8 (Perfect octave), There were some questions in the app that When I listened on the two notes that were played in succession, sounds to me like a P1 (Perfect unison) I didn’t hear ascencion or descension in the sound between the notes because they sound exactly the same, but you can only choose between m3 or P8 as your answer. Correct me if I’m wrong, isn’t it a perfect unison doesn’t have a semitone between notes because they’re the same notes on the same octave? And a perfect octave have twelve semitones between notes, same notes but different octaves (next octave up or down, ascending or descending melodic intervals) so it should be easy to tell them apart. But, I could be wrong about this. Edit: Thanks for the reply Stephane. I tried playing that first part again where I was having trouble recognising the perfect octave, and this time I ask my wife and son if they can hear the difference between two notes, my wife said they sounded the same, but my son said that the second note was higher, and then I tried it again, this time I used an earphone like you suggested to me. I can hear that the second note was actually higher, but doesn’t seem much (12 semitones), it sounded to me like a perfect octave played harmonically twice. And to clarify my confusion, I tried playing all major notes that are octave apart melodically on my digital keyboard and I can easily hear the first note ascends to the next octave, but on this app I am really struggling. There’s obviously much to learn for me to properly recognise musical intervals. Like I said before, I could be wrong about this and I was wrong, I apologise to Stephane for my previous review and promptly adjusted it.
