Comrade or Czar

I BUY GAME TO RELIVE GLORY OF MOTHERLAND ONLY TO SEE THAT I MUST PAY AFTER FIRST BATTLE. BLYET! In all honesty though this game is really rubbish. It tries to be political and intense but seems like a 5 year old made it.

Quite honestly, this is crap. You are immediately rushed into everything. One minute I was a simple new recruit and then I’m a commander being able to defeat 300 enemy soldiers with 15 riflemen...there is literally nothing here to keep your attention. The choices seem irrelevant and just don’t make sense. I seriously do not understand how there can be more than one chapter the speed at which this is going. Plus, it costs £4!!! What the hell? It’s a nice enough concept but it has been executed extremely poorly. Would not recommend even downloading this for curiosity.

To be honest, this is probably the worst ChoiceScript game to date. You’ll spend most of your time fighting battles, which are ludicrously easy and repetitive, consisting of spamming the same options over and over. The few scenes outside combat are massively underdeveloped and don’t make much sense. For example, you’ll generally go from winning crushing victories to being told that one enemy after another has somehow managed to infiltrate your capital with an entire army. They’re also written with one “correct” way to play, with any wrong choice resulting in instant death. You don’t have the chance to develop meaningful interactions or relationships with any other characters. The writer clearly knows nothing about the Russian Civil War, or Russian society of the period. For example, you’ll have the option of developing nuclear weapons. My character also went straight from being a peasant conscript to immediately being given command of entire armies without any explanation. I was given the option to become Czar myself after about 10 minutes of play... but was still required to fight on the front line in every battle.

A game of this style and from this time period is a pretty rare thing. While it could use a little editing, it was very entertaining.

While the setting is unique for a Choice if Game the writing is lack luster and gave me little emotional connection. This needs to be rewritten and redone before I consider what right now would be wasting money on the game. I have noticed a downward trend with some newer games and hope that changes.

Barley finished game. Bad writing. Lazy overall. Also I don’t don’t want to call a game “biased” because that sounds dumb even when I say it it’s still passes itself off as very “pro-Communist” just so meh

This is nothing more than communist drivel. The wording is poor, and the story skips around like crazy. I expected a slow build into the main character having to choose between the 2 sides. It fast forwards far to often.

The game looks fun, but it’s so short that I feel I got ripped off. Won 2 battles then the game goes “haha you got lazy with ur victories, game over”. This is definitely a skip, don’t waste ur money like I did. I technically finished the game in 10 mins or something along those lines.
