Description

Confession Planner is intended for persons above 13 years of age to aid the repentant person with their confession with their father of confession.
By no means does it replace receiving the absolution from the priest!
The Confession Planner app helps prepare you in a gentle manner by guiding you through a series of questions with the repentant answering yes or no to each offense.
Each question is rooted to the ten commandment and supported by verses from the bible. Additionally, to help you understand the offenses, the questionnaire is divided into three categories of: Sins against God; Sins against my neighbors; Sins against myself. At the end of the examination questions, a text box allows you to type in any additional offenses that might be on your mind.
Completing the questionnaire generates a report presented in a “first person” format making it easy to read during confessional.
Included also are prayers of repentance before and after confession.
Rest assured, the app does not ask your name or any sort of information. You have the ability to save the report which will self-destruct in 7 days also delete at any time.

Confession Planner Reviews

More Eastern Orthodox than Roman Catholic

Great layout and functionalities. However, as previously mentioned I found multiple examples of things listed as sins. Then when I did my research via priests and online resources; they are not sins. Examples are reviving communion during menstruation, dancing, celebrating Halloween, etc.

Not accurate for Roman Catholic confession guidelines

I liked the idea of the check list, but yikes, there were some suggested things on there that are not church teaching as a sin. This could lead to scrupulosity and just plain old incorrect teachings. Was not happy with that idea of leading young or new people to the faith in thinking some of these are sins, such as receiving the Eucharist while menstruating is a sin for example! Or not fasting Wednesday and Fridays year round.

I like this app!

This app does a good job of getting the penitent ready for confession. It has a Guided feature that will present you with questions that you answer yes or no to, and it also has a List feature that allows you to scroll through sins and check off those that apply. It also has a cool ‘auto-destruct’ feature that automatically deletes your list after 7 days. It does what it claims to very well, and I hope the developer continues to update and provide more features in the future.
