Cozy Grove Reviews

Update utterly broke controller support

HiDvorak on

United States

Good game, but last weeks update means that none of the player tools - bug net, fishing rod, item throwing - work on controller any more. They used to be mapped to the B button, but seem to have been moved to X button, but the “change zoom level” function is ALSO mapped to that button, breaking the tool function. Please fix ASAP.

Resolution too low

Marmalade94 on

United States

It looked way better on PC in the original game. This 2nd series has 720p to 480p even on iPad. Sad.

Amazing game

I NEVER write reviews, but this game is so perfect in lots of ways. If you’re debating getting it, just do it. I’ve been so addicted for the past 2 days.

Worthy sequel to the OG CG

Graymalkin's Left Ear on

United States

I’m 45 days into my Camp Spirit journey. It’s a great game that I make time for every day. Making money is a bit grindier in this sequel; in the original you just planted as much fruit as possible, turned it into tincture, and got rich. I miss easy mode, but there are a lot of profitable recipes in this version, so purchasing in-game storage hasn’t been too difficult. The discord community is really helpful with finding ways to make coin. The game play is similar to the OG; you run around helping bears find peace in the afterlife while trying to get yourself back home. The themes are similar, but different enough from the original that the stories are engaging. This one is very modern; the first bear is a podcaster stuck on the influencer treadmill. Another story line is about the stresses of landing VC funding and keeping the wheels of a business turning. I’m guessing that Spryfox is writing from life. Update day 120-ish: I love it so much. The stories are rich and complex. Spryfox made insightful changes to how bears progress that are so hopeful and also emotionally real

Constant crashing on iPad

T_Bos on

United States

I’m a long time Cozy Grove fan and was thrilled to try Camp Sprit; however crashes are making me play less and less. It’s gotten so bad that in spite of constant manual saving, I end up redoing grind activities 2-3 times because the game crashes every 5 minutes. Takes all of the enjoyment out of playing and makes for a stressful experience.

Improves on the original game

TheMyrrick on

United States

Has everything I loved about the original game with some quality of life improvements. I don’t love the experience of having tools in hand as controlling them is not as easy as the previous game. I enjoy the new characters and mechanics.

Lazy, unfinished sequel to a great game

Laurpone on

United States

Loved the original and played it through at least five times. Since selling out to Netflix Spry really dropped the ball on the sequel. It took two years and it’s nearly identical to the first (lazy!), very obviously unfinished and chock full of bugs. Don’t even bother playing if you’re on an iPad. You’d think that Netflix would care since iPads (tablets) are their second most used device but apparently not. Just glad I didn’t actually pay for this.

I really wish I could give 5 stars

Bethxny on

United States

I could get past having to play on my iPad and not my Switch if the game didn’t constantly crash. It seems the bigger my camp gets and the more items I add, the more frequently it crashes. I haven’t even used Craw as much as I want to because I feel having Craw follow me causes my game to crash. It’s gotten to the point where I don’t want to play anymore. I load in, make progress and it crashes. I load back in, play a bit more and it crashes again. After it does it a few times in one play through I don’t even want to bother opening the game again. It’s disheartening cause I love this game so much and adored it on my Switch. I love everything that’s been added so much but I cannot even fully enjoy it without the game crashing.

Fun but frequently crashes

ElizaBennet08 on

United States

I really love this game. The characters are cute and the quests are fun, and i enjoy that there are new things to do every day. However, this game crashes A LOT. I mean, every 10-15 minutes of gameplay, if not more often. It’s nearly unplayable, and I’m on an iPad - it should not need more processing power than I’ve got (and I do close all other apps before opening this one). It’s fun enough that I still try, though, so that says a lot!

Came here from switch version

Porkchop93 on

United States

I love this game! The graphics are stunning, the gameplay is almost exactly to that of the switch, the bears are so cute and I can see the correlation with the switch version. Honestly starting to love this one more, simply because I can pick it up so easily while I’m in the waiting room, etc. I don’t have to carry my switch around to play one of my top three favorite games. I’ve gotten so many friends hooked on this adorable game.
