Description

Cricket Captain 23 puts you in control. Create your own legacy. A packed international schedule includes the oldest Test Match rivalry in cricket as Australia tour England, the test championship final and 2023 World Cup. Test Match cricket was shaken up by a new aggressive approach in 2022, nicknamed Bazball, creating some of the most thrilling matches in history. Our new aggression system, inspired by Bazball, uses batting ability and natural aggression based on the current batting tactic, rather than the type of match being played. A generation of cricketers brought up on 20 Over Cricket have naturally aggressive styles that mean many have higher one-day averages than first class. Batting aggressively to match their natural style can improve performance. Equally, knocking runs off at 12 an over is natural to players in the last overs of a 20 over (or even Test) match.
Cricket Captain 23 also includes historical data for international player rankings and player recent form, including recent performances in Test, ODI and 20 Over Internationals. International team ranking has been remodelled using results of every match in the four-year window. New wicket keeper statistics are also included, with separate fielding stats for keepers and outfielders, as well as byes conceded records. Wicket keeper abilities are also now more accurate.
All domestic systems have been updated to include the latest developments in India, South Africa and around the world.
Key features for 2023 include:
• Match Engine: new Bazball inspired player aggression and rating system.
• Updated International Team Rankings: calculated from last 4 years results.
• International Player Rankings: with historical data, all-rounders and improved system.
• Asia Trophy: play in ODI and 20 Over International tournaments.
• Player Form: includes historical data, opposition and an updated system.

• Wicket Keeper Ability: greater accuracy for keeping ability.

• New South African Franchise League: six new teams.
• Indian Domestic System: major update to all competitions.
• Domestic System Updates: all systems updated to latest rules and formats.
• Improved Player Generation: rebalanced with focus on player aggression.
• New Kits: including international and Australian 20 Over.
• Test and ODI Championships: updated for the 2023 season.

Great but…

I think this is such a good game. I really enjoyed playing it. But why the hell do I have to pay to carry on. It’s really annoying cause I thought this was a great game and now I can’t play it cause I can only play 6 games before it’s all over

Zero player detail

Howie102 on

United Kingdom

Whilst they’re happy to provide all manner of insight into player tendencies, historical data and the suchlike, there is zero information as to the player abilities. I’m having to loosely base it off of salaries, as I have nothing else to go on. Given that this is standard across every other sports game I’ve ever played, this makes this game wholly inaccessible.

Bad fielding

The game is pretty fun however the fielding is horrendous and the graphics are pretty bad.

awful game

simple opposition for all 5 games a played got over 400 runs my team with root malan brooks lyth would get out for 150

Convenient change in difficulty when buying the full version

Smxth_s on

United Kingdom

Loved the free version so much that I payed for the full version. Not quite sure why but the game becomes unplayably hard even on easy mode once full game is purchased. Giving me second thoughts about buying now

Unrealistic

BigDogWill on

United Kingdom

Bought the game for 4 consecutive years but I won’t again, nothing changes year after year and the scoring rates of opposition in one day and t20 matches are ridiculous and unrealistic. I understand it is a small dev team but the game is no where near good enough for such a large price (as AppStore games go) to be put on it

The same game repackaged

A request for more customisation options

PRITCHARD305 on

Hello , I think the game is fantastic but I would love the ability to create my own leagues and tournaments too add to career mode with my own created players to truly personalise my playing experience. I would also like to see the ability to completely remove formats from certain career modes so they are not played at all across the board if I don’t want to play a certain format. My third request is that we are able to control associate nations and try to gain test status in career mode. Thank you.

Don’t waste your money

Frustrated gam3r on

Almost feels as though they lure you in for the free trial, playing good cricket then you buy it and all that changes. Trying to play a defensive batting strategy and my players are playing reverse scoop shots, every time it seems I’m just about to get back into a match, for example having got to 200-0 then proceed to go 130-9 as if the pitch and weather has changed instantly. It’s unrealistic. Loads of potential but unplayable in its current state, and that’s without even going into detail for the white ball modes, even worse. Wish I could get a refund.

It is awful

Messi-is-goat on

United Kingdom

This game is so unrealistic how has a team made 240 in a 20 over match and then in an ODI 100 all out, please just improve and make it more realistic.
