Casi perfecta

La App es casi perfecta al 90% diría yo, incluso en su versión free. Si se pudiera elegir idioma sería genial y le daría el 100% sin dudar.

Training routines

It would be very useful to be able to set my own routine of exercises with the available exercises. Therefore, I could start my session of fingerboarding, climbing and stretching without having to look for each exercise, just clicking on the routine and start working out. Some freedom on adding my own exercises would also be good. However, really good app, I would say the best for climbing training.

Great app with minor issues

I think the app has been great thus far for tracking my daily hang boarding routine! However, if I’m doing my sets while listening to music through my headphones, the music will pause at the beep countdowns, at around 3s. Even after turning the Crimpd sound level all the way down in the settings, I still find that about 50% of the time, my music will continue playing fully and the other 50 it will pause. A minor issue, but it would be great if the devs could take a look!

Great exercise design!

I tried the lactate curve test and now I can’t stop lactating! It’s fantastic for anyone looking to improve on or off the wall!

Lacking in quality, detail and UI/UX

I am a month into regular use of this app. The programs are basic and straightforward, as are the exercises. It doesn’t take long to figure out the structure of all program templates (beginner to elite) as they are quite simple. My low rating is due to the overwhelming lack of detail in these programs and glaring shortcuts in the app’s design. Workout videos are poorly made and lacking in technique and instructional value. Details such as what constitutes a single rep in a multi-movement exercise is omitted. The timer has a countdown feature which is slightly and frustratingly off for timed rest and reps when there is little turnaround time. The scheduling template for workouts is clunky and not particularly straightforward. Users are forced to manage their own load by scheduling their workouts with very little guidance. On rest weeks half workout are often prescribed but the load/ reps in the workout will not adjust for that change in load. Overall, the simplicity of the programs benefits beginners. However, the necessity and complexities of managing your workout load throughout the week makes this app very hard/potentially harmful for said beginner. This app design would be impressive if made by a hobbyist but otherwise is poorly designed. Please save your money and hire a qualified coach or invest in other training resources!

Great training app for beginners

Really good training app. Having a structured plan has certainly helped me improve my finger and core strength. I have been using crimpd plus and it’s been worth the cost, but you can still get a lot out of the app by just using the free stuff. Recommendation: Integrate with HealthKit and/or Strava. A lot of people cross train with other apps and having a central point to store a combined log (with detailed data) is nice. Add the ability to connect to external heart rate sensors Consider an Apple Watch app

Simply the best!

Fantastic app, exactly what you need to climb harder. Tons of workouts, easy to use, and Crimpd+ is a great resource to take a methodical approach to improving specific climbing skills.

Great training app

I have had the app for a while but started using it consistently the past couple months. It’s great. I have trouble keeping a scheduled planned training plan which this app offers, but it also offers training sessions and breaks them down by several categories so when I’m training I can pick what I want to train. Also it gives a break down of different areas I’ve trained. I highly recommend this app. It helps you measure, log and gives you exercises to do. I am a casual climber in my late 40’s and I have never climbed better. Get the app and subscribe.

Really great, but some frustratingly missing features

This app is great, especially the training plans offered through Crimpd+, really help me stay organized and focused. Enjoyable to use, lots of great info. A couple a technical complaints that are the only thing affecting the 3-star rating... Why can't we change the starting day of the week? All training plans assume that "a week" starts on Sunday, and ends on Monday. This means that if you ever decide to begin a training plan toward the end of the calendar-week, you'll soon find that it's impossible to organize your training plan in a convenient way (e.g. if you want Friday to be training Day 1, Monday Day 2, and Wednesday Day 3, the app will assume that you missed all of your training on Monday and Wednesday of week 1). I also feel that some of the exercises are missing information, mostly relating to when tests are intended to be taken. For example, in the "Capacity Power" exercise, the instructions say to rest 1 minute between reps, but not how long to rest between sets. The timer itself is coded to a 10-minute rest, but this is not explained. Should I be climbing during those 10 minutes, and after finishing my reps for that set, take the time remaining on the 10-minute timer as rest? Or do I take a full 10 minute rest after each set? This decision will make a big difference to the level of pump gained on this exercise. Similar exercises, e.g. "Route Pyramid" suffer from the same issue, and require the user to make assumptions. Maybe some users can make those assumptions, but I'm just a dumb gumby relying on the training expertise of you all at Crimpd! 🙏 If these small issues could be addressed, the app would be a solid 5/5. Thanks for all the work on its development!!
