Crown & Flint

A simple well laid out app that lets you track cameras, lenses and film stock. You can add notes to the light meter data and the sample image captured for each frame taken. The app can record when you change a lens mid roll or move film from one camera to another halfway through the roll. It keeps track of pushing and pulling film too. The app is meant for film shooters but I also added my digital camera and created a “fake film roll” so I could track my adapted manual focus lenses, aperture data and any notes that my digital camera doesn’t record. Super handy. Two thumbs up from me for sure.

The features keep coming with more and more subtle additions that I never even would have thought to ask for, but because a film photographer is developing it, he makes the app he would want to use. A+

Just getting it all loaded up and love how organized it is. I tend to scatter my notebooks so this is going to be a huge help. One suggestion for future updates would be to add a quick way to note whether you intend to push or pull a loaded roll of film. I can still do it in the "notes" field, though!

Download this app today and it froze the first ten seconds I used it. I could not get it to work at all and had to uninstall it. It’s a great idea but needed more time in development.
