Description

CryoLumen is a project produced in collaboration with the environment, working with both visible and invisible storms. Each Storm Print in the art series begins with a composition or organic matter on photosensitive paper (lumen prints). Exposed for the duration of various storms these ephemeral compositions are then digitally transformed to serve as triggers for living augmented reality (AR) landscapes that integrate near real-time solar storm data from NOAA. Each day, the AR sculptures, particle speeds and magnetic line colors are transformed by otherwise invisible solar wind storms, thus connecting the artist's past experience of local weather with Earth's present endurance of cosmic storms.
