Cool but crashes

richkovach on

One of the only apps, I think, to do rclone encryption, which is amazing. Unfortunately MKVs seem to cause the app to crash out to SpringBoard. They will play for about 5 seconds, with audio, then the app crashes and quits. Non-MKVs seem to work okay.

Truly great app, although crashes frequently and wished in could import rclone.conf

Crashes about 75% while watching videos lately, not sure what happened. I truly love this app, it is the only one like it. One thing I wish it had SO BAD was the ability to just import and existing rclone.conf file.

I really thought this was the answer to clone on iOS

This is a great app if you don’t use our clone crypt! I really wish there was a way to import The rclone.conf file and have it all automatically be set up and I am really missing Mega.nz cloud support. I have tried to use the art clone password and salt for Gmail on our clone crib on the set up to get access to my encrypted files in my different Gdrives, but it won’t unlock the encrypted files, no matter if I use the original password and salt, or the rclone password id’s I was so hoping this would be like RCX on android, but sadly it’s not. If this had direct rclone.conf (Encryption)import and Mega.nz cloud support I would gladly have paid the developer $5 for the app. I want to thank the developer for making it as good as it is, with regards to unencrypted Gdrive and OneDrive support.

Works for Rclone crypt with Google drive backend

As GUI.. on

After some tinkering, I managed to add my rclone setup on my iPad, which will be really convenient for me. Thank you developer! Several suggestions for the application. 1. The UI can be more polished. After a remote is added, there is no way to rename/edit it. The only option is to delete and then add it again, which is slightly inconvenient. Also, when I created a remote with the same name as an existing remote, it will fail silently rather than telling me that remote already exist. 2. I would like to add the rclone crypt information manually (as I don’t want to copy the rclone configuration file to my iPad), but I am not sure what are password and salt for? In my rclone configuration file, there is no salt, only password and password2. It would be better if you can explain what those values corresponding to. Of course, adding from configuration file works, so I am not going to complain too much. 3. The built-in viewer works great. But It would be much more convenient and useful if you can integrate with the file API (i.e. sort of like rclone mount, allowing the iOS built-in file App to access the remote). Right now, as a workaround, I can export files to iPad and then allow other applications to access them. It will be more convenient if I can import from this app from other applications. 4. The app crashed after playing an (possibly corrupted) MPV file. I am testing all these on iPad Air 4 with iPad OS 14.2. I am hoping to hear you back and fixing these issues, particularly number 3. I would give you 5 star for that.

best app for rclone

Do you have plan of developing Mac ver.?

Pretty good but no self hosted backends

Pretty cool app and I like the idea. Both in practice and as a proof of concept of reversing rclone’s encryption. But I really wish the core storage backend supported a self hosted option like WebDAV, sftp, or the like.

Files Support?

The app looks very interesting, is there an eta on Files support. It’s the only thing holding me back from Cryptomator everywhere. Thanks!

Works but needs some improvement

First of all a HUGE thanks to the developer of this app. I’m a dev myself and I know side projects are not easy so kudos!! But I’ve a few points in order to give constructive criticism: 1. No ability to directly import the rclone.conf file. I know a person using rclone is already tech savvy. However if there’s no option to import the conf file then a bunch of people may be turned off. Not all may know that they need to provide the exact same password and salt (which can always be extracted using the conf file. You don’t need to have them noted down) in order to mount their prize cached encrypted remotes on their iOS devices. 2. And this is a BIG one for me at least. When running media from a cached and encrypted remote the seek doesn’t work 😭. Like the 30 seconds forward does work but if you mess with the progress bar and take it to say the middle of the movie then it’ll never come back on. This is very frustrating and I hope it can be fixed in a future release. 3. No ability to cast it to Apple TV or chrome cast( again using cached and encrypted remote). If I mirror screen of my iOS device then the video does get cast to my tv. However if it’s an mkv file then I need to keep my phone on and playing the video in foreground. Can’t switch apps or anything or the video will stop. MP4 fares better though 4. Resume play option isn’t really working for me ( I’ve a cached encrypted remote based on a read only drive token ) 5. Should have the ability to clear local cache and limit its size in order to manage device storage Thanks again and hope this feedback helps. Please keep up the good work. Thank You 🙏🏼

RCLONE WIN!!!

This is the only app that I know that works 100% with rclone. Would like to see this app work with team drives then I could utilize it.
