I downloaded a dozen of these sound pressure level meter apps. Most give obviously wildly inaccurate results like 80 dB in a quit room with no talking. Insane. This app gives nearly identical results when similtaneously running on iPhone and iPad. The results were not only almost identical but believable with quiet room readings in the 35-40 dB range. All good. The bad. The apps description talks about a setup or setting screen where you can calibrate the microphone. I can't find a setting screen or page anywhere.
I recently downloaded this sound level meter app and it seemed to be running continuously without my having to start recording. Somehow, I have now stopped it operating all together. There is no obvious “Start/Stop” toggle or button, only a Pause/Resume (recording) option. I’ve shut down and restarted my iPhone 15 but no change. The drop down menu only has options for the 4 different sensitivity decibel readings based on the type of noise to be recorded. At this point, I give this app one (1) Star unless I get help on instructions for operating this decibel reading app.
I like it. So sensitive too
Use to measure sound in our church. And gives exactly what we need
cannot spell the words for different sound levels correctly in an app for publication. “rick and roll”.
Quite simply a valuable tool to recognize the sound levels of a space or location you need to evaluate. I use it to record decibels readings for work, and travel.
This app shows how loud you are
It’s terrible
They deserve one star but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that it works. Advice: get a different app.
