Description

Decked Builder is the premium deck building app for Magic the Gathering -- providing a sleek user interface to research decks, find cards, and then build, price and finally buy the deck that you want.
"This is the program I recommend for anyone willing to spend ... on an MtG application. I’m one of those people who will generally take the free alternative over the paid app any day, but I’m actually happy to have spent the money on this one. It has a ton of very cool features, runs smoothly, and even has RSS feeds for several top MtG sites."
- Michael Evans, GatheringMagic.com
"Decked Builder is the absolute pinnacle of what a Magic the Gathering accessory app should be. There’s almost nothing that I need, that this app can’t do for me."
- Jaden, appaddict.net
"The iPad version of Decked Builder is perfect. Solitaire play has been upgraded and the card loading speed is marvelous. Thanks for a good application."
- Eugene Lee, author of Wagic
"I have to say that this app is certainly one that I would recommend to any MTG player"

Decked Builder Reviews

Unuseable

This was a useful deck builder, multiple poorly thought out UI updates later and a change to how card searches work and it is entirely worthless. I reached out to support and they said they wont be fixing the problem. What is the problem you ask? Well every version of every card is displayed in your search as unique entries. Want to find all cards with a given trigger? Have fun sorting through 50 versions of the same card including every alternate language version. There is no way to change this (i asked support). I had bought most add-ons for the app and now have to find a new deck building app.

No default settings

Agavwcjkj on

Every single time I start the app I have to manually reset settings to show cards ordered by cost, owned in collection etc. A lot of simple stupid mistakes that would take 1 day to fix.

Don’t like this

Bro1893 on

It was slow and when you looked up a card it’s supposed to give you decks to build but when you click on options for the deck it would show more unless you would create it.

The most recent update ruined it

I have used this app for almost a decade. It used to be the number one deck building app with no competition. I can’t fathom what the development team was thinking with this update. Test mode has you squinting at your cards from 20 feet away in an attempt to make it more aesthetic? Or realistic? I can’t even see the card man. What were you thinking? Secondly, in order to search cards, there are no settings to choose your default preferences. In fact there appear to be no settings for this app at all. I can’t make “all versions” default. Or “order by cost”. That has to be selected every single time. This is the best example of iteration for iteration sake I have ever seen. If it isn’t broke let’s all get together and find a way to break it. Our leal fans should love that. For reference this app back in the day was like $15 dollars for all of its features. It wasn’t cheap and we all paid it because it was unmatched in how incredible it was.

How far this app has fallen

Liquidhavok on

This used to be the best deck building app. After the major updates it’s incredibly frustrating to use. The filtering and views are not intuitive and the default setting are useless. Now every time I want to search for a card I have to change multiple setting to get a useful view AND there appears to be no way to set a default view. The user experience is now dreadful. This app isn’t totally useless but the experience using it is nothing short of aggravating.

It’s still ok

I use it more to keep my deck lists rather than building at this point. If you try to build now the database is so large even with criteria to limit the results it freezes every 3rd or 4th search. God forbid you do it the old way of just scrolling through cards. Basically at this point I search the cards in my colors online and come back to the app, pray it doesn’t crash, add the card to my sideboard for later. It’s a bit inconvenient for building at this point honestly.

Terrible

UbiDoob Benubi on

I’ve used this app for many many years. Recently it has gone way down hill. I can’t search the data base by keyword it has spoilers on there for a set that doesn’t come out until August complete rubbish. I wish I could have my money back. TERRIBLE!!!

Once great, now horrible

Kabüm on

Once an amazing app for making decks, now filled with random garbage that isn’t relevant. Having to manually select a “playable” filter when searching for cards is horrible. Why would you include the cards from the Journey into Nyx Hero Deck or the 2002 World Championship Ad into a deckbuilding app? It hurts seeing how hard this app has fallen off.

Terrible, just terrible

Fropez87 on

I used to use this app ALL the time a few years ago. I stopped playing MTG and have recently got back into it. I fired up this app and wow, the changes are so terrible. Bring back the old version. It was simple, fast, and easy. This version is confusing and slow.

I used to love this app

Loksr on

United States

This had been my favorite MTG app for years, the ability to search cards and edit my collection was top notch. Then new updates rolled out, the interface became abysmal, and at some point it lost the ability to delete or limit saved card art so now the space this app takes up on my phone has somehow ballooned out of control to 14 GB.
