Defter Notes Reviews

Still young, still developing, and much more to cover

AppReviewerEN-ES on

It has editable sticky notes, you can add images (crop and rotate) and stacks of PDFs, infinite capacity to create spaces and rename them; you can add text box (not much formatting options). You can add pages and choose different styles of them, but when you try to add and attached URL there is no way it can get smaller size. There are many features it can implement. However, as a user I identified some main problems for me, which are the too low quality (blurry) definition of the text when zooming in or exporting the whole space and even exporting separately as pages on png format. There are no many options to increase the size of the eraser or pen. Also, another feature which seems to need further development is the selection tool, you cannot edit the rotation of it or even see where you are moving the text because it just disappears. Additionally, when you use the eraser tool over a sticky note and a page it just gets overloaded and it stops itself. The use of the apple pencil seems to work acceptably but not fluently as I expected. Not very intuitive for now. Overall, all is a great and useful app with a unique and outstanding concept. Hope can get further. Note: is not multi-platform and as I can see it doesn't get very often updates but the developer has multiple channels where you can suggest features and see tutorials.

Fantastic app

This app has changed the way I study. It's already great - can't wait to see how it develops

Data collection

hd rixnen on

United Kingdom

The app has promise, I would actually use it if the developer changed app privacy to Data not Collected. There is no reason why the developer needs to know how I choose to use the app and when. Diagnostics are also not required, far more complex apps don’t collect this information. To me the sign of a great app is Data not Collected.

A great concept.

So far I love this app. This app could have even more potential as a digital desk with some more functions. I look forward to this app growing. So far though it is a good app.

Decent app - no documentation

Skwerlmasta on

The app is actually pretty solid. It’s a great concept with a clean interface but it has two flaws that make it unusable for me. At twenty bucks, this is a fairly pricey app and yet has almost no documentation. The company has put out a string of YouTube videos that are set to music only, no words, and are really just feature demos but there really isn’t any documentation for this app. For this price the developers should really invest in better documentation. My second issue is that the tool bar disappears in split screen mode such that in unable to add any new elements to the desktop. This means that I’m having to switch between two apps in order to take notes and this just slows me to a crawl.

Great, but without a few basics.

Please add a search function for the PDF reader within the app!

Writing is not vector - blurs at zoom

JJRainwater on

United States

I just purchased and am turned off by the fact the writing is not crisp when you zoom. Part of the turn on for spatial note taking to me is the seamlessness of not having to think about quality changing like this. Moving from Freeform to Defter Notes is a significant downgrade in terms of the visual crispness the writing. Maybe others won’t be turned off as much by this as me.

Great but needs fine tuning

machitect on

United States

I love it, but there needs to be basic things that need tweaking, like in PDFs, there is no back button (if you’ve pressed a link accidentally and you have no idea what page you were reading / working on, or the highlighter, which is gorgeous like the Apple Original tool, but cannot control opacity (at least none that I can obviously find in their controls), and the selection of items like stickers are rather finicky. Anyway, I purchased this app because it IS promising. I was hoping it would be a better version of liquid Text, better aesthetically. Anyways, I’ll keep an eye out for improvements.

Would love undo/redo and eraser size adjuster

Realmy69 on

Like the concept and intent. Undo/redo would be useful for quick mistakes and eraser size for consistency, including a stroke remover would be good too.

Best $20 I’ve spent on any app!

Get this app if you’re in school and you want to take and keep good notes.
