Desert News is a great source of information. It has interesting articles without the doom and gloom feel of other news providers.

Trends in Deseret News

My husband and I have been loyal followers of the DN and even had actual papers delivered to our home for decades. Unfortunately, we have witnessed the DN become a more liberal (“woke”) newspaper in recent years. I was especially put off by the continual “harassing” of President Trump while he was in office and which continued throughout the Biden term. Don’t get me wrong, I have never been an “all in” Trump supporter. But no president has ever been so harassed as he was and is. And it was obvious that he was put on trial for so many things just for political purposes. No wonder the American public finally said “Enough is enough!” and voted him in for a 2nd term. I hope he will receive a turnaround of media support in his 2nd term and the harassment will stop. Because of this, I read the DN less and less as I have less trust in what DN reports. One exception has been the reporting of Jennifer Graham. I consider her to be a true journalist, trying to report fairly and unbiased news. I have grown weary of most all the media and big corporations falling into the progressive, “politically correct” ideology at the expense of true conservative values that our country was founded upon. Please DN, I implore you to return to your more conservative roots and values and if you do this, I promise to become a more loyal reader of the DN once again.

So rape is a banned word in the comment section. Hey morons. It isn’t pornographic, vulgar or obscene. Common English word that describes a crime, Biden committed. Of course you would let anti Trump people use it. Go take your hypocrisy and lies elsewhere

I grew up in Lewiston up in Cache valley. After graduating from BYU in 1972, I left for military service which turned into 30 years I have lived in Florida for the 25 years since I retired from the Army. I have enjoyed and relied on the Deseret News to keep me informed and connected to Utah. I really enjoy sharing the editorials with my military friends and others, always with a unique perspective on the issues. And of course I’m a lifelong BYU fan which goes over well in SEC country. Keep up the good woek with a high quality and relevant publication.

Hire some new or younger or hungry investigative writers and journalists. You’re losing me to breaking news on X, etc. care and seem excited to write. Adapt to the instant tech era we live in. Adapt or lose me
