I’m trying to complete my library inventory but the option to keep working keeps disappearing completely. I’ve tried to close and reopen the app and reinstalling but nothing will bring back the inventory I have started.
This app has so much potential but it’s too unreliable to actually be of use. First, if you have an iPhone every couple weeks the app will stop working because there will be updates on your Google chrome or Safari apps that somehow affect this app. Then the app won’t work until you clear the cache from all your internet browser apps. This isn’t such a big deal except if you’re with students or staff and expecting to use the app and they’re waiting to check out books and now you have to clear all your search histories. Then it just stopped working completely for Android users. I’ve contacted tech support but they are of little help and seem disinterested in solving these problems. It’s a shame because when the app works, it’s great.
When I discovered this app, I was over the moon. I’m a high school librarian, and we use the Destiny Library Manager — and now I can operate the most common tasks given to me on the fly (check-outs and patron status) from my phone without a barcode reader. Yes please! Unfortunately, some UI bugs limit this functionality. While the app could use a facelift for sure, my main concern is that I cannot scan resource items — because the keyboard covers the selector for library materials or resource items, and I can’t see how to hide that (I’ve tried tapping outside the text field) without attaching an external keyboard. So I can check out library books, which is great, but the app doesn’t help me with resource materials such as textbooks, student devices, district assets, or classroom novel sets. I really hope this can be fixed!
Although old Follett Destiny had it’s flaws, iPhone users were still able to use it to check in/out textbooks. Existing users can still use the old App for checkout. It is not an option for new users as it is no longer available in the App Store. I was hoping this App was going to resolve the shortfalls of the old App and make it useable for Android users as well. This App really falls short in my opinion. I’d give it zero stars, but that is not an option.
Couldn’t be happier! You can checkout and check in library and resource view items, look up patrons and take an inventory. Won’t take the place of you circ desk but it’s handy. Would like to option to check status of students who have left our building to another that still have our items.
