Description

Only use this app if you have the Dexcom G6 CGM System.
See your glucose number and where it’s heading with just a quick glance at your compatible smart device* with the Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System – Approved for diabetes treatment decisions with zero fingersticks†, no scanning, and no calibration. Discuss with your healthcare professional how you should use the information displayed on the Dexcom G6 to help manage your diabetes.
*For a list of compatible smart devices, please visit dexcom.com/compatibility.
†If your glucose alerts and readings from the Dexcom G6 do not match symptoms or expectations, use a blood glucose meter to make diabetes treatment decisions.
Dexcom G6 provides real-time glucose readings as frequently as every five minutes. Dexcom G6 is approved for children age 2 and older.
The Dexcom G6 System provides personalized trend alerts right on your smart device and lets you see when your glucose levels are going too low, or too high, so you can better manage your diabetes. The Alert Schedule feature lets you schedule and customize a second set of alerts. Custom alert sounds are available, including a Vibrate-Only option on the phone for glucose alerts. The only exception is the Urgent Low Alarm, which you can’t turn off.
The Always Sound setting allows you to receive certain Dexcom CGM Alerts even if your phone sound is off, set to vibrate, or in Do Not Disturb mode. This will allow you to silence calls or texts but still receive audible CGM Urgent Low Alarm and alerts: Low and High Glucose alert, Urgent Low Soon, and Rise and Fall Rate. Always Sound is on by default. A Home screen icon shows you if your Alerts will sound or not. For safety, the Urgent Low alarm and these alerts can’t be silenced: Transmitter Failed, Sensor Failed, and App Stopped.
In addition to the accurate performance provided by the Dexcom Sensor, you’ll receive other valuable features:
• Share your glucose data with your followers who can monitor your glucose data and trends on their compatible smart device with the Dexcom Follow app. Share and Follow functions require an internet connection
• Health app access so you can share retrospective glucose data with third party apps
• Today View widget, which allows you to view your glucose data on the lock screen of your smart device
• Ask Siri* to read your current glucose value, using a custom phrase
• A Dexcom Clarity link on the landscape trend graph lets you easily transition to the Clarity App to view more information on your glucose trends
*Siri may not be available in all regions. Check Apple’s website to see if Siri is available in your country.
Apple Watch

I have been using these dexcoms for about a year now i have been experiencing issue after issue. I’m not satisfied with the product at all.. don’t even get me started on the Coustomer service horror stories. If you are a diabetic considering dexcom please save yourself the trouble and headache just go with the free style Libre continuous glucose monitor. This is a medical device they need to figure these issues out before someone gets ill or hurt because they are relying on dexcom.

Great device, ridiculous app

T1D that’s been using Dexcom for many years. Hands-down a life changing device that’s helped get my blood sugar under the best control. Unfortunately, this app is garbage. You can’t silence alarms which should 100% be the app user’s decision. I often acknowledge a high or low alarm on the first alert, and a couple minutes later, the alarm wails at maximum volume, as if there wasn’t previous acknowledgment. Adjusting the settings appears to have zero effect on the volume level. Last night at 3:30 am, I was startled awake by an ear-piercing alarm notification that the app failed and had to be deleted (?!!). I was so angry, I deleted it and went back to bed. This morning when I got to work, I tried to reinstall the app. Now it’s asking for the sensor and transmitter serial numbers. The sensor is 5 days old and I no longer have that number, and the transmitter box is at home. I realize that the sensor itself contains the serial number, but I’ll never be able to pop it off from the base without asking someone else for help. Embarrassing to have to do that with a co-worker. Instead, I’ll spend the day without any CGM readings and go back to manual finger pokes. I expect a much more reliable and better functioning app for a medical device.

I updated to the new iOS and now my Dexcom widget is gone what the hell. The widget was such an easy and quick way to see my sugars by swiping right. Now gone. Booooooooooo

How many more years until you deign to give us non Americans a Lock Screen widget? Left a review some 4 years ago begging for one. But no, an app update disabled the widget and despite hundreds of subsequent releases and bug fixes, that particular bug has never been fixed. What gives?

Not as helpful as last week

**this happened again with the IOS update to 18.1-ish 2024-12-06** Why can’t I see my sugars in my locked screen all of a sudden? The locked screen is beneficial for people who don’t have access to my phone when I’m in distress, please fix this immediately!

Great when the app actually works

Love the Dexcom until it refuses to send me notifications when my blood sugar is out of range problem being that if you don’t get notifications you assume you are in range when in actuality levels could be astronomically high but the app will just off and on decide to not send notifications could lead to severe health complications for diabetics if you don’t manually check it should really be fixed

Product does not stay on

Like many other comments I found this app lost connectivity multiple times a day. Annoying but not the worst part of this product. I paid close to $400 to buy the G6 set box of three + the transmitter. Week one the product only remained on my arm for 7 days. That was actually good compared to the second and third applications that lasted less than a day. Not sure how these can be used for swimming when a gentle run with sweating seemed to makes these fall off!!!!
