dict.cc+ Dictionary

I have tried many many apps and dictionaries in attempt to help my German. This one is my favourite, the most comprehensive, and easiest to use. Nice work on adding split screen functionality for iPad, just reassuring that will always be my no.1 German app.

I just bought the + version because I was so impressed by the free version. I love exploring the various uses of each word in different phrases. A lovely app!

The only thing missing is the phonetics.

I was waiting for this function. I'm using the app (German-English) a lot and it's much easier to learn the vocabularies with the new vocabulary trainer. I was using another app only to have this function available on my device. The next step could be to create an option which makes it possible to synchronize the vocabulary with the iCloud because I'm using the app on my iPad and iPhone.

This is a fast, smart, stable app, with a really good built in dictionary (english-german is best but ti does italian, swedish, spanish..) that works on and offline. Absolutely top notch app, and unlike many of its peers, the underlying database is a living, breathing, collaboratively edit dictionary with frequent updates and improvements. The app is great, and the underlying collaborative database deserves the support that this ticket price of this app provides, just as much as you deserve a simple and easy dictionary app. Well done. One thing to be aware of: The app ships WITHOUT a dictionary database installed - it downloads the relevant database when you fire it up the first time. So, don't just install the app and then leave the country only to find out you have to download the database on global roam in the airport when you arrive.

I use this for German, and it's incredible how many words (and phrases) it contains. I also have the Langenscheidt Standard and Collins dictionaries, but they often don't have the words I'm looking for. It's come to the point now where when I come across a word that I think is uncommon I just use this app and don't even bother with the others. Some great improvements would be to add Präteritum and Perfekt forms of verbs, verb conjugations, and the plural nouns with the singular ones instead of as separate entries. If this app had these, it would easily be the ultimate german-english dictionary.

Fünf Sterne gäbe es wenn man folgendes Verbessern würde: - Ich vermisse ein paar Sprachen wie Arabisch, Friesisch, und Japanisch. - Dass man nicht mehrere Sprachpakete zum gleichzeitigen Download anwählen kann ist etwas umständlich, jedoch ist der Download schnell erledigt. Ansonsten gefällt mir die App sehr gut. Übrigens, zur Sprachausgabe einfach auf die Übersetzung tippen, 'retranslate' auswählen, und dann auf das Lautsprecher-Symbol tippen.

Die Plus-Variante ist seit Jahren mein Nachschlagewerk. Ich schätze vor allem, dass man blitzschnell ein Wort suchen und finden kann.

Das ist eine der allerersten Apps, die ich jemals genutzt habe. Sie ist ein treuer Begleiter und zählt zu den wichtigsten Funktionen meines iPhones. Vielen Dank!
