Like the other person, I’ve also just lost all my bookmarks. I have had this app for years and never had any issues with this. So disappointed as I used this feature frequently. All of them are gone :( EDIT— it was indeed because I had gotten logged out. Updated my rating!
One day my bookmarks were there and next day they were gone. Nothing odd at all occurred between the two times I used the app.
I generally like this site, you have a lot of useful information. However, some of what you print is laced with prejudices and not in the way you think it might be. For example, in explaining some words or thoughts, like the word prejudicious, you state one example to more clearly support your definition: ‘ that whites have preconceived ideas about blacks.’ Maybe you could have included that ‘blacks also have preconceived ideas about whites’, or that some ethnicities have preconceived ideas about other ethnicities.’ You are furthering the idea that whites in particular are against blacks. This furthers incites of hatefulness in our culture. Every culture and ethnicity has preconceived ideas about each other, but you chose that one. It’s not just not distasteful but it puts the onus and ‘blame’ on white people inly. A continuance of this type of rhetoric is enough for me to discontinue your app. I already know that you really don’t care but maybe you could think about it. I’ve donated to your app on several occasions. We all should strive to be colorblind, and look at the good attributes that each can offer, without imprinting this attitude into you definitions.
It’s very good. I can find many definitions. I am a librarian-I use the dictionary daily. I also enjoy writing short essays, your dictionary is a powerful tool for researching information. Linda Haynes Manigo
I would have rated this five stars except it seems that the placement of the ads just below where you press to hear the pronunciation for USA or UK it is hard to get without opening a dang ad, it was not this way when I started using this app a few years ago. I find this now to be very annoying.
It often keeps your most recent word in the search box, and then even after you clear it and start typing the new word, it puts the old word back in front of what you’re typing and messes it up, requiring you to delete it a second time and type the new word a second time. Very annoying!
Educational app to use.
Advertisement keeps coming up in Free version while I’m trying to learn. It needs to be like Facebook giving a choice of reading in still image in home page scrolling down. I will click on ad of my choice.
My son uses this often. His readying and vocabulary has grown tremendously. I have the app too, and I love it!!!!!
It has games it’s free it’s amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
