DigiKeys AUv3 Sequencer Plugin

This is by far the best sequencer on the iOS platform, allowing multitrack sequencing with lots of high quality built in sounds. The real beauty of this sequencer is when it is used to sequence external apps, and even better still external hardware, which is done by routing the signals through aum and out via usb, 5pin din, or Bluetooth midi, whichever your preference may be to your hardware synths. But come on Paul I’m still waiting for you to give me an extra octave or two downwards on the transpose, as when sequencing hardware synths via midi the note received is the note played, at least on analog synths and I need to go lower for bass lines etc. That having been said I find it impossible to find a better sequencer for features and ease of use on iOS.

Feels like this is not ready for prime time as it does not appear to keep good timing. I was attempting to use this to control other synths under AUM, tried Model D, Model 15, Lorentz and had the same issue with all of them - a pattern with repeating notes was not regular and not all notes sounded (different notes sounded on each repeat). Symptoms seemed too much like note-off info being sent late or out of sequence, and on investigation there doesn’t appear to be a way to change/reduce the note length to a fraction of a step for MIDI out data.

4Pockets have an uncanny knack for finding missing links. In this case, a seriously good way to sequence under AUM. The in-built sound are very good, and the app comes with the ability to send to multiple IAA or AU3 apps (that have midi in) from DigiKeys. With or without internal sounds. This allows for variation limited only by the users imagination. The developer is already busy adding more functionality. Some people have big dreams, and this app can help bring them to life. Nic

I love it, it is immediate and very handy, but no swing makes it really limited. I’d love to be able to get all the instruments really grooving with and inventive swing module.

This app had more meter options, like 5/4 or 7/4, or user programmed.

With the addition of the midi cc control, it’s now exactly what I was looking for.

I love the app. After figuring out how to avoid losing patterns and songs and the few quirks there are with AUM and DigiKeys, I have been building up songs on this. There are a couple quirks and 2 feature requests I would like to mention. I noticed that when saving and loading sessions in AUM, that they DigiKeys settings will remain including patterns and song settings, but even though I saved the “Song” in DigiKeys then saving the session in AUM, when loading, it does not show the song that was saved previously. I have to Load song, then when saving it will show the song name that was saved in the dialog. Plus, not sure if this is a bug in DigiKeys or AUM, but if you switch bluetooth headphones while in DigiKeys / AUM, it will wipe out all the settings in DigiKeys. Here is the 1st feature I would like to see implemented - Import / Export Song to Files/iCloud. This would be great for backup reasons and moving between devices so that the songs that I am working on can be imported / exported. The 2nd feature I would like to see is live recording of steps.
