Description

DigiStix Drummer is an AUv3 compatible drum machine / sampler plugin for your favourite DAW.

The program has a host of features which allow you to sample your own drumkits and trigger them either using a host application via MIDI or using the inbuilt pattern and song editor which automatically syncs tempo with your DAW.

There as so many great sources of professionally recorded drum kits these days which can be imported into DigiStix allowing you to build a catalog of your favourite sounds. Alternatively use the built in sampler to record your very own kits.

DigiStix has 16 assignable pads which can be quickly mapped to individual drum samples or recordings. Each pad has it's own volume level, panning, reverb, delay, reverse and sample length settings. You can assign each pad to a mute group which allow for instance a closed hi-hat to mute an open high hat etc. Each pad can be assigned a one shot or looped sample. This enables you to import pre-looped samples at a specified BPM and have them play when a pad is pressed. You can also import up to 3 samples per pad and use in multi-sample mode which allows different velocity levels to trigger different pads etc.

One great feature of DigiStix is the ability to none destructively assign samples from different kits to the pads for live performance and song creation. We also provide an intelligent melodic mapping mode which maps selected samples over all 16 pads tuned to a selected key and scale.

The inbuilt sequencer allows patterns of up to 64 beats in length. Each pattern can have it's own time signature allowing complex arrangements can be constructed. Up to 256 patterns can be chained together to make a soung which are saved independently of the kits. The pattern editor also allows you to enter 1/4, 1/8 and 1/16th note triplets as well as reverse sample and accented notes. We provide easy velocity editing with 'draw in' drum rolls etc.

DigiStix also features a 16 channel mixer, configurable digital delay, reverb, chorus / flanger, bit crunch, overdrive, 8 band EQ and digital filtering options (HP and LP filters).

Each drum pad can be mapped to an external MIDI trigger allowing external drum pads to be connected if you wish.

If you play Drum-Breaks with slices you expect that you can switch between kick and snare, so that the kick stops when the snare is triggered and vice versa. This function is called „cut itself“ in fruity loops and it‘s a standard since 2005 (free version). It’s even known from 80ies Atari/ C64-Sequencers. It is different from „retrigger sample“, which only works for one sample, not between all of them. I am disappointed that an app which could be the most useful for live drumkits is stuck 20 years behind this basic playability, because if you like more realism, for example with modern breakbeat, you can‘t find anything in the app-store. „Cut itself“ would bring this app to a whole new level. A) Should we really return to hardware sequencers, if we love sliced drumbreaks? B) Or should we wait until apps that can do it already like samplist or koala are fully compatible with DAWs? I would give it four stars if it would be updated in version 2, even though i would like to get a refund and wouldn’t update. But if it would be added also in this version, i would give it five stars and update to version 2.

Brilliant App

would even shine brighter if: - it was possible to switch patterns via Midi Program Change (like in Digikeys) - if you could group notes for probability (if Tom1 isn’t played, Tom2 also will not be, for example)

Wollte mir noch den Sequenzer im Bundle kaufen. Irgendwie verstehe ich die Preispolitik nicht. Sieht aus wie ein bug! DigiStix gekauft 8,90 Bundle kostet trotz gekauften DigiStix 14,90 Euro Sequenzer kostet 9,90 Euro ?????

Great, but add sample import prelisten!

defrigge on

This is the best and most straightforward beat making app for use within a DAW like Cubasis. The one thing I‘m missing is pre-listen samples in the import directory. This is a must for bulding a kit fast. P.S. Thanks for the hint from the Development team: now I understand that it is possible to prelisten by „import from documents“. Five stars for a great app!

Thank’s to the Programmers👍

Out of Sync in AUM but Audiobus3 works pretty well!

ThOrBn on

Hi 4Pockets, Hi Folk, My good first impressions blown away when I load as Au3 only in AUM because then it is completely out of sync and sounds weird, even when sync to host is enabled. The only way to bring this App synced to AUM is to load standalone and then as Au3. That is quiet uncomfortable and unusable for good workflow. Please fix it for 5 Stars! iPad Air 2 - iOS 12.4.1 ...... I appreciate your quick answer, and like your app, no doubt. Tried Panic = no change, and yes the VU Meters does not run properly. 2 options to make it synced in AUM 1st: load standalone then AUv3 in AUM 2nd: AUM Latency Control to 128 or better 64 (not recommended for old devices) I also tested in Audiobus3: no problems at all, synced in any case of any Latency Controll settings Due to I prefer to work with AUM I do the workaround. However please try to fix the AUM issue Thanks and Brgds Thorben
