I am subscribed to both hard copy and the ap, but find the ap is pointless. It is impossible to search for recipes and is basically no better than the hard copy. Expect more from an ap.
I have been a huge fan of Dish for some time but had stopped buying the papercopy magazine in an attempt to be more green. I am very pleased therefore to try the app. The magazine is still great and, if anything, better to read via the app. However, I think there are some areas where it trying to be too clever. However, my biggest gripe is the functionality when trying to actually follow a recipe and cook. The app does not overread the iPad's auto lock. Therefore in the middle of cooking, you lose your place and to make matters worse, the page does not redisplay when you restart. I kept having to restart the app mid wooden spoon flourish. Rather frustrating. On a bright note, the Chicken and chorizo with Parmesan Gnocchi was a huge hit. Yummy!
