Distiller - Liquor Reviews

Useful when wanting to try new spirits / liquors. Some things are missing some ratings though.

This is an app I’ve been looking for, for a long time! As a frequent user of both Untappd and Vivino, I’ve been trying to find the same kind of app for whiskey, gin etc. Finally I found it! And so far it’s working beautifully.

The app is decent but I paid for a month subscription to see if I liked it and I still get pop ups asking me to join every time I use the barcode scanner. After the pop up goes away the app works OK but it’s a pain. Another issue is when manually searching for a product I have to add it to a list then go back and tell it how many I have. You can’t change the inventory at the same time. I may keep the app but will definitely cancel the subscription.

I am disappointed that Distiller simplified the at-a-glance flavor profiles in this recent iteration. Unless that information is still available in the paid version of the app, much of the value has been lost

App asks for too many privacy violating permissions. Please reduce and be more respectful.

Looking through the whiskeys this app with show whiskey and when you select them for more info it then displays “no spirit found”. If you don’t have the spirit then why is there picture of it in your browsing section? And if the spirit is not found why does it show up in the search results when I type in the name? Doesn’t seem very robust in browsing and searching functions.

I love using distillers to prevent buyers remorse. But, I don’t agree with all the reviewers. This helps me with comparisons and tasting notes.

You either have to pay $50 a year or watch ads.
