DJ DEX turns your iPad into veritable DJ software console that rivals features found in top professional DJ applications.
Get touchy with the intuitive interface or plug in a supported DJ controller for tactile hands-on control over features like BPM sync, interactive waveform displays, pitch/tempo control, scratching, seamless automatic looping, automix, and effects. DJ DEX also supports mono split output so you can easily monitor each deck in your headphones just like a traditional DJ setup.
DJ DEX is not a game – it was created using the same technology found in DEX 3 Pro for macOS. Whether you use DJ DEX as your go-to solution for DJing events or as backup you’ll have the features you need to create tantalizing mixes that keep ’em dancing. See for yourself and take it for a spin today!
Key Features:
+ 2 DJ DECKS and a Mixer

+ BPM Snap-To-Beat Mixing

+ Automatic Beat-Grid based BPM detection
+ High-Quality effects (Flanger, Echo, Cutoff filters, etc)

DJ Controller Support:
+ supports multichannel audio controllers
+ over 100 controllers supported (from Pioneer, Numark, Denon, Hercules, American Audio, Reloop, Gemini, Akai, Vestax, etc). No configuration needed, but you do need the iPad Camera Kit connector or a Lightning to USB adapter to connect the controller to your iPad. You must use DJ Controllers that consume very little power (so that the iPad can power them) or have their own power adapter.
Optimize for performance:
+ Turn on “Flight Mode” when doing live mixes
+ If you need both speakers and headphones preview and you don't have a multi-channel audio interface or controller you can use a special inexpensive “splitter” that splits the headphones output so that the left channel will go to the speakers (master output) and right channel will go to the headphones (monitor)

DJ DEX FAQ
Is DJ DEX free?
Yes, DJ DEX is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is DJ DEX legit?
🤔 The DJ DEX app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
The app itself works good but will not work running Bluetooth the sound still comes from the iPad instead of the Bluetooth speaker major disappointment since I need it to work via Bluetooth for the application I’m using it for
I want my money back
They stole me again (PCDJ FX).
iOS 11.4 + iPad Pro 9” + 22.000 songs = the app never started.
Audio splitter failed
So I have a iPad 6 generation to lighting to camera usb to powered usb hub with a scarlet 2i2 and a Ddj-sb3 when audio spitter is turned on sound cuts to main speaker and headphones other wise VERRY NICE APP SUPPORTS THE CONTROLLERS YOU LOVE! I will give it 5 * when audio splitter doesn’t crash the sound thank you for this BOMB APP!
Very good app
Long time user of PC DEX which is a great program, was glad to get this iPad app. I really like this app, easy to use. One problem that I have with it is that it doesn’t store cue points. That is a big issue with me since I use cue points in live services. In order for me to use this app, I have to set up all cue points all over again for each session. I will continue using the app hoping an update will fix this. I gave it 5 stars because I love the other functionality and ease of use. One other problem, when I search for a song, it finds the same song multiple times in the search results, even though the song is only stored in one location in iTunes.
Crashed
Constantly crashing and can't play half the music from my iPad. This app is junk and I would like an immediate refund. I currently run dex 3 on my MacBook, could not be more dissatisfied with this app
Crashes
I purchased the dj dex app for my IPad yesterday for use with my Numark Dj2go controller. As soon as a turn on the external mixer setting in the software the application crashes and stops working. It must be deleted and reinstalled. Please refund my payment for this application.
Nice start
I've been using pcdj for many years. As usual this is a solid app. This app seems to be in early stages but is rock solid. Definitely a real app.
Unstable
Very unstable, crashes a lot and sometimes right in the middle of a song. Don't waste your money on this, it's a great layout and concept but worthless for any kind of DJ show.
Not bad...
This is actually a really good DJ app, when it works properly, it can actually be used with some finesse. The syncing works well with 4x4 music.
Although there is still a lot of bugs (iPad1) even with the update.
Some constructive criticism...
1. The audio seems to drop on the deck that is not playing sometimes, reloading the track normally helps, but is not really viable in most situations.
2. All the sliders are a bit small to effectively grab, often it takes two attempts to actually get hold of it. The track progress bar/slider is almost impossible to grab easily. Could these not be replaced with the entire tracks waveform preview, alongside the magnified view, so we can see when breakdowns occur etc and drag to there etc? There seems to be enough space to make these bigger. Just make the Brake, Echo, Flanger, Sync, Cue and Play buttons a bit slimmer. Same goes for the Equalizer, please make these sliders/handles bigger with the ability to double tap them back to the default position.
3. The pitch sliders will also benefit with a double tap to get them back to neutral.
4. The FX section could also do with some sort of parameter to change the effects strength and tone, these effects get really boring very quickly, as it is the same thing every time!
5. The beatgrid lines sometimes do some funky things, like adding in extra visual lines in between. It doesn't seem to change the syncing, not too sure what's happening there.
6. You have to keep on pressing sync every now and again as the two tracks slowly drift (you can even see this in their video), not a big problem but why would they drift if they are synced?
7. You can multitouch some functions but not others.
All in all, it's one of the top 3 DJ apps out there, I actually find it easier to use than DJay apart from not seeing a full track waveform. Can't compare it to CrossDJ as it wont run on my iPad1.
Please update to make it more user friendly and more stable and you will have a winner!
Changing my review
I dug into the program and noticed that the ability to switch between playlists/artists/songs/albums etc. was at the bottom of the song selection list, so I'm deleting the original review and posting this instead.
I've used PCDJ products for years, so it was nice to have this as a backup to the real program. That said, I do have a few quibbles:
1. If you accidentally hit the main button while working in the program, it shuts down. Need to have an option that would prevent this, perhaps using the orientation lock switch.
2. Sliders aren't as responsive as I would hope - they tend to shift back and forth around the spot you want them to be.
3. An "auto-mix" button would be nice.
