DjVu (pronounce "Déjà vu") is a compact and versatile document format. It is generally more compact than PDF (to 10 times smaller) and is very efficient to store scanned documents. There are a some large online libraries that provide a number of books in DjVu file format. The main source of information is to be found at djvu.org
Many documents are freely available in DjVu format, for example at www.archive.org. You may download them with Safari and open them with DjVu Reader.
If an outline is present it is displayed and can be used to access the outlined parts of the document. The outline is editable so to permit to browse with ease through the document.
A slider allows to paginate rapidly and conveniently to any point of the document.
DjVu documents are generally made of pictures of actual books or documents that are processed in DjVu format. So DjVu documents are image based, where each image represent a full page. So pages are like the genuine one and shown as a full image. Browsing through a DjVu documents is then a page by page image browsing.
DjVu Reader permit a browsing of most DjVu Documents that you may find. (Tapping left or right will turn the pages: soon...) Tapping on the center will toggle full screen viewing.
PDF documents are supported. Outline in PDF documents is usable to browse rapidly through the document when available. Not all PDF documents have an outline though.
Position in opened documents is remembered the next time you open it.
You can contribute to the future of the app by suggesting improvements. I will do my best to include the one I can manage.
I use DjVu Reader regularly and have made this app to be able to read the documents I have. So I will try to make this app as versatile as possible.
The Help contains more use explanations and some future improvements that were asked or that I want to implement.
Other fil types will be added in next releases.

DjVu Reader FAQ
Is DjVu Reader free?
DjVu Reader is not free (it costs 69.00), however it doesn't contain in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is DjVu Reader legit?
⚠️ The DjVu Reader app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
Integrates well with Dropbox which is kind of essential to get djvu papers and book onto the iPad for reading. The interface is very snappy and easy to use as it borrows good ideas for navigation from the Kindle (which is my preferred ebook reader). A cool feature is that it can OCR (convert images to text) which makes reading even more pleasurable on retina displays. Overall a big thumbs up and was exactly the app I was hoping for.
This is my main DjVu reader
Thank you for the program. Keep improving it.
Some DjVu files no longer readable
After the latest update some djvu files can only be read in few pages. Then it turns blank. Do not update if you have not done it yet.
Seems to work well.
Seems to work well. Would be nice to be able to see thumbnails of pages.
Mr
Do not waste your money. The app does not work well. It is unstable and has a lot of bugs. To list two: it does not recognize some folders in the dropbox, and the icon of the file in the folders’ menu keep disappearing. The app has potencial, but much work must be done before it is usable.
Confusing
Earlier versions were great, it was the best djvu reader for me. But after updating I've gotten an awful piece of ****, for 6 bucks I paid for it earlier.
Ridiculously buggy. Unusable.
I'm uninstalling this application from my iPad. Previous versions were rough over edges, but usable. The new version won't allow you to read long documents, as it will allow to swipe only three pages; it will confuse documents (it will open a different document than the one requested or worst delete a different document), and it will crash at the slightest provocation.
The outlines of my docs all disappeared. What an annoying update. Could you app maker fix this bug pls?
Still broken on iPad 3 (with no ios upgrades)
The current version (2.0.7) is practically unusable on iOS 5 - too many annoying bugs. This is just sad, since this app was the only choice for reading djvu on iPad 3 without iOS upgrade.
Broken
You guys totally broke it. The navigation controls are gone, the page swiping is buggy, slow and crashes the app, the setting to turn off swiping does not work. It went from a great app to a total piece of crap I can't use because it's slow as hell and crashes all the time.
