Description

dLive MixPad is an engineer’s mixing tool providing wireless mobile control for the Allen & Heath dLive digital mixing system. It gives you the freedom to walk the room or stage and control the sound right where it is needed.
dLive MixPad and the dLive Surface can work together to provide simultaneous control of independent functions, for example one engineer using the Surface to mix front-of-house sound, and another using the iPad to mix monitors on stage. Several iPads can be connected, each providing independent control.

dLive MixPad is intended for working with the live mix and channel processing. Things you can control:
- Fader levels, mutes, pan
- Aux and FX sends, routing and Pre/Post switching
- FX Tap Tempo, Global Tap Tempo
- Matrix sends, routing and Pre/Post switching
- DCAs and assignments
- Preamp Gain, Pad and 48V
- Trim and Polarity

- RTA function
- Channel names and colour

dLive MixPad is not intended for system setup. The following functions are not available at the iPad:

- Channel ganging
- Aux source routing options
- Show store and recall
- Scene Recall Filters and Safes edit
- Talkback

dLive MixPad Reviews

Not super useful, but works fine.

For a company with such great console UI, I’d honestly expect more from A&H’s official app for their flagship mixing system. Lacks in-depth control.

Where is the Home Tab?

Coming from other A&H consoles & companion apps the home tab is missed. Easy access to all meters and RTA view. This should be here. Also, maybe a group view selector instead of swiping through inputs quickly jumping to a bank of 8 (without setting up a custom view) would be nice.

Very convenient and helpful tool!

I have used this app many times with many dLive configurations (both touring and install) and I should say this app does come in handy with any and all configurations. I started with iLive years ago and I must say that was frustrating to work with. Then I used GLD, QU, and SQ, and now dLive apps, and again, these are really well built and thought about. Those that expect this app to replace the surface should not own a dLive system.. just wanted to start off with that. So I do want to stress that this should not be used to replace the surface but to instead help. What I also love is the fact that compared to the ilive, and qu apps, the (my 12.9) iPad Pro adds more channels on the screen as compared to on the smaller devices. The older apps would just give you 8 channels and just blow them up on the iPad Pro. So BIG change that makes things just a little easier.

The basics

Good simple interface. Love the two independent rows. Killer features needed: scene control, FX control. Scene is an absolute MUST! our mixer doesn’t sit in the main sound field, so we love on our iPad quite often. We can’t utilize the power of scenes since we can’t control the changes from our iPad. Contemplating switching to a surface pro and use Director instead.

Thanks for nothing

My iPad was auto updated to this version. The mixer is still running 1.62. I am not sure when the mixer will be updated. I can no longer use the app to control the mixer. Apparently there is no way to revert back to a previous version.

Decent App

This is a pretty decent app. There are a few quirky things about it. I would love to have the ability to have portrait mode. Landscape only is quite limiting if the band wants to use it on stage. I'd also love if you were able to tap on the mix in the upper right corner and be able to select your mix from that location. It's cumbersome having to always go into the list of mixes at the bottom.
