Description

doable helps you to be motivated to do your tasks and build or break habits in a positive way!
• Why is changing our habits important?
Habits are powerful building blocks of our personality. Developing positive habits and breaking the bad ones are key to improve our personality and achieve success. However, building or breaking habits can be difficult without the right tools and methods. That’s where doable comes in - doable uses a well-established scientific method known as Positive Reinforcement to help you build or break habits.
• What is Positive Reinforcement?
Positive Reinforcement is a well-studied method for building behaviour by giving positive feedback. That is, receiving a reward for a behaviour motivates us to repeat that behaviour. For example, imagine if you are trying to build a habit of daily workout, and when you finish your workout, you get a reward that makes you very happy (e.g., a gift). Will you work out again the next day for that reward? This is the key principle behind Positive Reinforcement.
• How does doable help you build or break habits?
doable lets you combine a task(s) with a reward of your choice, and thereby motivates you to do the task to achieve the reward that you crave for. Repeating this cycle can help you build healthy habits.
Every day we do things that we are naturally motivated to do, such as social media, watching TV, listening to music, snacking, etc., and we also want to do things that improve us, but we are not naturally motivated to do, such as workout, getting up early, tidying, organising, learning new skills, etc. When you do them separately, they are just two groups of interesting and less-interesting things. But the magic happens when you combine these two groups! That is, make everything that you are naturally interested as rewards for the less-interesting things that you want to do. For example, make that cookie you are planning to eat this evening as a reward for organising your desk. That’s it! You just created your first task-reward pair, and by repeating this task-reward pair overtime will help you develop the habit of organising your desk even without a reward associated to it. You can use the same method for breaking or controlling bad habits – all you need to do is reward yourself for not doing the bad habits. doable makes it all easy by helping you keep track of all the task-reward pairs. • What are the benefits of doable?
Practising task-reward pairing can positively affect your way of thinking. Just directly going from your desire to the reward may give you momentary happiness, but it won’t give you a sense of achievement and satisfaction. However, when you make the task-reward pair, and finish your task and claim your well-earned reward, you will feel a sense of achievement, and that feeling of success is key to build new habits and keep positivity in our day-to-day lives.
• doable is also a To-Do list that motivates you
