Dogtra PATHFINDER2 Reviews

Good!

Works pretty dang good! Wish it would work more soundly with Apple Watch and iPhone. The product is great but the app could be more user friendly.

Excellent tool! Can’t imagine being without my tracking system.

Could be much better

The efence set up is a joke. Requires something like 1/2 mile between points (not exactly but seems like it) to setup. Speaking of points, it’s ridiculous that you can’t edit SPECIFIC POINTS when drawing the map. For instance, you can set up to 15 points to make a geo fence. Great. But if you want to edit points 1 or 2… well guess what? You HAVE to hit undo on every point till you reach the one you want to move… or start over. At least the GPS works.

Dogtra pathfinder mini 2

Not satisfied. I thought version 2 might be better than 1. These collars do not hold up to the rigors of a rabbit dog style hunting.

Connection complicated

This product works well once you get it connected. But it just takes too many steps. I have many other gps devices that are far easier to use.

This app is an absolute must with hounds.

I have two bloodhounds and live on 120 acres surrounded by a few thousand, I have been able to train to bloodhounds, and let them be free a lot of the time off leash. with the gps i can see how far out my dogs are, recall them, have a fencing area and let them live their best lives possible. it’s fairly routine for me to see in the gps tracker my hounds have gone 7-8-9-15 miles in a loop and being able to recall them home is CRAZY TO ME. This system is Amazing and i wish Dogtra would contact me for a video sponsorship!

Gps

Takes long time for the gps signal to hook up with collar. When collar is not moving the tracking will show random movements up to 50 yds. Not good for e fence functions.

The collar works as it should. I have the pathfinder 2 mini. Only complaint is the app. Keep having to delete it and redownload. Also the maps are junk. They need to update. Maybe they can partner with OnX soon and learn from them. One star review is all toward the app not the collar.

E-Fence won’t activate

The app will not allow me to activate the stimulation for the collar. Won’t toggle to activate.

Old Garmin dogger

Yeshua's Kid on

I have ran Garmin track and train handheld and collars for the past 8 years. When the time to up grade came around, the Pathfinder 2 was released and time tested it enough for it to catch my attention. I have been running the regular sized collar and the mini for the past two months on my pack of Versatile gun dogs using tone and pager to communicate stop and recall. I have found more consistent behaviors with these cues in compared to the Garmin units. The Pathfinder 2 unit has made the transition between communication seem-less. Thank you Dogtra! Josh Milner
