I subscribed to DoMental for three months. I was down to the final days of my subscription and talking with my therapist and out of no where was told by “support” she was no longer with DoMental and was given a new therapist. I only had a few days left so I wrote back saying it wasn’t worth it to start from the beginning with a new therapist in my last few days and asked for any explanation on what happened to my therapist who I had come to trust as we’d talked almost everyday for three months. I got no reply, no explanation, nothing. My therapist was amazing but the final days of my subscription was just all very odd and left me wishing for closure on the whole process. I guess that’s a downside of virtual therapy but I wish things had ended differently.
This is such an awesome resource for anyone who isn’t able to go to therapy or needs someone when “normal” therapy hours are not available. It’s also great for anyone who who had any anxieties about therapy as this can be done in the comfort of their home.
Starting therapy was intimidating at first. It felt like kind of a big deal. The first week was one reassurance after the other, from the therapist to the tech support people and even the emails they send (I assume everyone gets them) - it was all warm and made starting therapy a lot easier than I thought it would be. On week 2 I felt much more comfortable, and it is nice having someone to talk to on an agreed upon time each day. Gives me something to look forward to. My experience has been very positive.
I wasn’t expecting online therapy to be so great. Simple, intuitive, matched with a great counselor. A bit pricey for someone with five kids, but I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
Everything is great. My therapist doesn’t work in the evenings, which is a pity because I work shifts, but I clicked so well with her and don’t want to change.
I signed up for this app to get quick help for anxiety. The app advertises that you can call and text- that’s not true I found out you can only message. I messaged my therapist Grace and she never answered even though they are supposed to respond within a few hours. I contacted support to delete my account and get my money back and they still haven’t answered. Do not sign up.
It’s my first time using online therapy, and it felt strange at first. You can be more open because you can choose a nickname and never sit in front of that person, but it took some getting used to. However, the awkwardness disappeared after a few days and now I’m really loving it. The app is easy to use and not crammed with features. I like it. My therapist is good and I can talk whenever I want, not to mention all the time saved by being able to do it all from home. Definitely worth the money!
It’s really cool how they send you emails with info about what to expect from therapy and what kind of stuff you should be on the lookout for as it unfolds. As someone who never had therapy before, this app has been very welcoming. Thanks!
Had a technical issue when registering, but customer support solved it pretty quickly. I’ve had a positive experience with this app so far.
