Description

An Official U.S. Navy mobile application, produced by MyNavy HR IT Solutions
The Navy's Domestic Violence Prevention – All Hands mobile application, revised for 2022, is a training and resource tool that provides easy access to information and instructions about the prevention of domestic violence and child abuse. The training provided on the app fulfills the new Domestic Violence Prevention General Military Training (GMT) found on MyNavy Portal. This training became mandatory for all hands on 1 October 2022.
The 2022 upgrade features new materials, videos and creative interfaces to make this required training more intuitive, interactive and educational. The upgrade includes information about healthy relationships, intimate partner abuse, reporting options, and the requirement for all instances of child abuse to be reported to the Family Advocacy Program. The DVP-AH app is designed to satisfy the following learning objectives:
-- Define domestic abuse, intimate partner abuse and child abuse
-- Identify the types of violence
-- Identify some factors associated with becoming an abuser
-- Identify the cycle of domestic violence
-- Identify some tactics used by abusers in domestic violence cases
-- Identify some ways domestic violence affects children
-- Identify domestic violence and intimate partner reporting options
-- Identify requirements for reporting any suspected child abuse
-- Identify support services and helpful resources
In addition, the app provides links to key DVP-AH resources and an "Emergency" contacts section that offers information on services like the National Domestic Violence Hotline and the Military Crisis Line.
The DVP-AH app aggregates information from a variety of sources. Information will be checked periodically for accuracy as some of the reference links may become outdated; the app will be updated as needed and released via periodic DVP-AH version updates.
Once training is completed, the app allows the user to document completion in their Electronic Training Jacket (ETJ) using their DODID number. This feature supports the Navy’s ongoing efforts to provide Sailors with the "anytime/anywhere" access to information.
PLEASE NOTE: To successfully submit a course completion using the DVP-AH app, an external e-mail account must be set up on the mobile device being used. For iOS/iPhones, the native e-mail app must be used.

Waste of Taxpayer Money

Great information, but an app is pointless, slow, buggy, and poorly done.

Crap

I am a retired Navy civilian. Why should civilians have to complete this training since we rarely interact with military members? Just more evidence how the so- called brass comes up with ludicrous solutions to problems akin to them still building aircraft carriers with the Chinese having 1,000-mile carrier buster missiles that render carriers all but useful. They endeavor to make civilian employees and military members Captain Americas, so that the real mission can’t be accomplished. The military is so stupid that their stance reminds me of a Jackson Five song when I was in junior high school, namely “One bad Apple DOES spoil the whole bunch.” If they keep adding more and more required training courses each year (back in the good old days we didn’t need to take any, and I wasn’t aware of any problems that arose), pretty soon the DOD will be stuck with employees who are poor performers who don’t care about getting the job done and only in goofing off, rendering the whole system totally ineffective.

Poor design, buggy

Why do we have to wait for each of the answers to appear in a delayed manner? What’s the point seeing the video for each question when the question already appears written? When we go to feedback, the app closes itself every time! When I click submit, it gives me an error that no mail client has been configured on my device. This app is pointless and lazy.

Why

When I asked “Could the navy make something any dumber?” they took it to heart as a challenge… and boy did they come through. I just love doing the same course several times just to get an error message instead of a completion certificate.

This was cringe and whoever made it should feel bad.

Can't submit score

TomTomany on

Error says no email client. I have one set up. In depth training, pretty depressing.

Outdated

The interface with the app should be updated. It wastes a lot of time dealing with the outdated GUI.

Wont give cert

Just says that a client has not been configured on device. Try to submit feedback ticket and just says it can’t be submitted at this time.

Doesn’t ever let me send the certificate email to give credit for course completion.

Probably shouldn’t have a game show about domestic violence as the final test… cringe.

The app had good and accurate information about the subject matter. The most jarring part for me, was the final assessment where you are face to face with this uncanny valley animatronic creature, pretending like you’re on a game show. Who wants to be a millionaire, themed as Top Sailor? Probably unwise to theme a serious topic as a game. Just give me an assessment and call it good.
