密码破译者每次猜覆盖的颜色只获得一个钉子。如果在盖子后面有两个相同颜色的针脚，玩家猜测有三个相同颜色的针脚，那么玩家仍然能够获得两个表明正确颜色的针脚。
一旦在神机妙算里获得了提示，密码破译者尝试新的猜什么颜色和破解密码，通过提示的帮助以及逻辑思维。
在此款益智游戏里，当行数表明你只有八次猜密码机会时；在你猜对什么颜色的时候会获得积分，当你破译密码时获得额外的奖励积分。如果你在此逻辑游戏早期破解密码也会获得额外积分奖励。
