I absolutely LOVE this game and love how it plays on mobile. Easy to pick up and play anywhere, especially with friends. BUT PLEASE FIX THE BOTS! None of them play some a human. The very easy and easy bots will never end the game unless you force them to so it’s borderline impossible to lose if you have a basic understanding of how the game works. And the Medium and Hard bots play almost to perfection. Even with scores not showing, they will know exactly how many points each player has and essentially card counts to know what’s coming. If they take any lead, even the Medium bot will not lose. The only strategy to beat them is to rush victory points and pray you draw well. Please fix the bots and make them play more like a human would.
The only thing I wish the mobile game had was the ability to turn purchased expansions on and off. Sometimes I really just want to practice the base game, but now that I have an expansion… I can’t.
The game and everything is great! Only thing that drives me nuts is that one of the essential rules in Dominion is that you shuffle your discard when your deck is -4 cards or less- In the app, it shuffles when you have no cards to draw. It -really- matters at the start of the game because it makes your early choices become more of a luck draw rather than strategic. On turn 3, you -should- likely draw the first card that you bought on the first turn. I’ve had games on here where the first 3 turns I buy cards, and I’ll draw the 2nd card I bought before the first card I bought (which is impossible with the correct shuffling rules) It’s tough to be the hard AI when the early rounds becomes a -whoever draws their new cards first- kind of game. Dominion can be a very momentum heavy game, so if you get lucky in the early rounds, there’s a good chance you can runaway with the game.
Please add the option for all players to always have an equal number of turns. It’s not fair for the first player to have a huge advantage by taking the last province and immediately ending the game having taken an extra turn. Please add a pool of extra scoring cards that would used during the last turn and give everyone the same number of turns and equal opportunity to win. The first player advantage is too strong right now
Love this app, pass and play online, or AI, the best you could ask for, and it’s FREE!!
It’s a pretty good app aside from a few quirky things. Like when you’re choosing a card to either trash, discard, or keep on top of your deck, you need to drag the bottom of the card to the middle of the area you’re trying to put it in or it doesn’t work
Dominion is by now a classic deck building game and yet so addictive! I play it mostly solo and I’m having a blast even if AI medium starts to be tricky One thing to improve is the iPhone version, it’s really small! It’s a scale down version of the iPad without more thoughts of UI/IX for small screens
I haven’t played Dominion in multiplayer, I only play single player. You can read other reviews regarding multiplayer. There is almost no content for single player - no leaderboards or challenges. I’ve played quite a few board games in their digital versions, this is one of the few that I’ve given up. Calling Dominion a board game is somewhat misleading, it’s really just a card game. The turns soon become absurd - chaining action after action. The simplistic nature of the game does make designing a reasonably capable computer AI quite feasible. An average digital conversion of well below average board game. If I were rating the board game itself I would give it one star.
Excellent play and learning value for this game. As a long time paper Dominion player, this app is most welcome as it is hard to find three players nowadays. The gameplay is intuitive, easy, and gorgeous - for a card game. Fast too as you don’t have to shuffle your cards all the time. If you haven’t already, check out Race for the Galaxy app. Another great tabletop game digitized by Temple Gate.
