I’m a professional musician(woodwinds) and this app is really appealing. Cool display, too. But on my iPhone 6s, the tone only sustains for a few seconds before the sound in my headphones becomes completely distorted and unusable. The images on screen continue to respond to my playing, so it’s probably an audio output problem within the app(?) If this can be fixed, I’d give five stars for sure.

I absolutely love this app! I have other drone apps that are good but the response and realistic sound of this one is leagues above the others. However, I do wish the app had a feature that would allow automatic cycling through the notes so that the player could work on intonation and hearing that particular note while working on speed without the need to stop, select the note, play and repeat. Also having the option to select how long each note is played as well which range of notes to be played would make for a more complete and efficient practice.

worth the purchase!!

boasting a wide variety of instruments, octaves, and demonstrations of intervals, “drone tuner” is an incredibly helpful and motivating app that has allowed me to observe visually the mistakes i make with my intonation. not having to scrounge through youtube to find a drone for one note is a huge relief and saves time while one is practicing. though the price tag seems daunting, you are guaranteed to find that your time will be spent in a more valuable, productive manner, and that your ear will sharpen greatly.

It helps me to adjust my intonation instantly

This app is huge help , makes my practice very efficient. The app also help my students to practice more accurate at their home. The app is easy to use, even the younger players can use it. They love the cool graphics !!

the drone app for professional musicians

Just downloaded the Drone Tuner app and am already finding it so much more useful than my other tuning apps. I’m a professional bassoonist and have been using various drone apps for years, but I’m tired of tuning to sine tones and tuning CDs. This app offers both a wide selection of drone sounds and a tuning feature that actually works while the drone is playing, unlike other apps. You can set the drone pitch to be perfect or have some natural variations, which is much more accurate to a real life playing situation. I can already see the benefits of the app; it’s much more realistic to hear the pitch and blend your sound than trying to be robotically correct with a standard tuner.

Mind blown

This is unlike any tuner I’ve used before. The pitch tracking is so fast and so tightly locked on to what I am playing. Maybe it’s just me but I think it feels like it somehow gets a better sounding result even for basic stuff like tuning the strings on a guitar. I gave up using electronic tuners years ago because I find my ear is more reliable; but recently I find myself using this and actually getting better results, which is embarrassing because I consider myself an advanced level musician.
