I needed a quick name generator and found this. I’ve not looked back, and I’m slowly buying the extra packs. It’s not just a name but give the bare bones of a character that makes it easy to expand if that NPC suddenly becomes a character in there own right. It’s well worth it.
This app tries to solve the "writers' block" for dungeon masters and other RPG narrators, by randomly generating combinations of common concepts. For example you ask for a quest and it will give you stuff like "Assassinate X" , "in public", "in a month" and what this X guy looks like. It can generate that spark you need to then go on and elaborate your real story. I actually think it would work great for improv troupes and other comedy settings, since results can border on the improbable (a transgender fantasy king, really?). Unless you only need contemporary settings, be prepared to pay a few dollars for the various item packs. There are four main topics (fantasy, sci-fi, superhero, western), each split in sub packs (quests, missions, character classes etc). It's also entirely textual, which leaves you with a feeling of using a glorified randomiser of database items - in the end that's pretty much all it is: a cliche' mixer.
It can create a quick scene with some stats that may have to be modded. A strength is that the stats can be saved via various formats... such as email and any installed note app. Good, but could be better with a bit more info.

DungeonRoller is no longer accessible for voiceover users. I held onto the app hoping it would be accessible. But I think I’m gonna have to delete it because I can’t use it. It needs to be like it was about five years ago.
I use these apps to help build content for the games we play on Redstone Diaries. Fantastic story telling prompts!
I really love this app. It does everything that I’ve been trying to get down on paper via tables. Much easier to randomize my game than using tables. I do wish i could delete some of the already existing randomizers, as i am only interested in using my own lists. Is there a way to do so? Also, is there a PC version of this app? Preferably as a download and usable off line?
I love this app, it’s helped me a lot with making nearly anything I want or need in my games as well as my art. And they’re open to new ideas and concepts if you feel they should add more to it
Good selection, nice randomizing, easy to use. Can get a little pricey if you want EVERYTHING but still handy if you don’t buy any of the add ons.
It still is asking me to purchase a package when I click on it and I don’t know how to fix it or get my money back.
