To celebrate International Joke Day 2022, we wanted to make an audio plugin. This plugin had to be a bit different. We started by creating a dustbin sound system (garbage can for our American friends). We got a real dustbin and put some speakers in it! After it all was done, we ended up with an interesting creative audio effect plugin called Dustbin!
This plugin will litter-ally change your life. Stop wasting time, you can’t refuse it any longer. Take everything you thought you knew about music production and throw it out.
Imagine you left two easily entertained idiots alone with a dustbin, amp, speaker, some microphones, and a worrying idea. Well actually, you don’t have to imagine at all, because Dustbin is here to answer those musical questions you never asked.
Pick your way through the impulse responses taken from the Bin’s cavity and built-in speaker. Transform your Garage into Garbage, Rap into Scrap, Pop into Slop, Punk into Junk, and New Age into Sewage.
No more worrying about IF your music sounds trash, now it definitely does. You’re welcome.
Dustbin is both a stand-alone application as well as an AUv3 plugin, meaning it works within iOS and iPadOS hosts such as GarageBand.

✅ The Dustbin AUv3 app appears to be high-quality and legitimate. Users are very satisfied.
Love this app already!
Applied to drum patterns followed by Dubstation or similar delay effect this Dustbin app is great for adding extra random textures to an ambient track by bringing it in and out sliding your finger up and down the dustbin to be delayed into the ether of your track.
Great fun so it is!
Thanks Caelum audio 👍
Love it!
Get it
Awesome!
Totally usable, and right up my street . Reminds me a bit of audio easels speakerphone, in terms of vibe. Sounded great on some drums from Playbeat, rammed through the Schlap compressor. Nice work
A space of waste. Well done !
Re:cycle - They could have made it compacter. Even for free, you do need to be effluent enough to have a download connection. Nobody is sure what it even is - A Wheel E-bin? If we don’t want everyone to have this, we need to keep a lid on it. Better Methane someone else has it…please help me I cannot stop…don’t deserve this…I not bin bag I bin good…pleeease make it stop…!
Made My Bin Day
I just love it. Another quality FREE app from CA. Ever wondered what that thing would sound like from inside a bin? Sample it, send it through Dustbin, and wonder no more. If only this had been released before it all kicked off about that woman putting a cat in a bin. She had to find out what a cat in a bin sounds like the hard way. But now, at last, that gap in the iOS music market has been filled, correctly, with any overspill being left neatly in a separate bin bag next to it. I’ve wheelie bin enjoying Dustbin, it has a lovely tone. This dirty little gem will get a lot of use. Not sit in my collection gathering dust, man.
Fun and quite useful
How nice to see altruism, in a world that is economically on its knees. Not only is this a freebie app, for a short time, it’s a lot of fun to play with and actually sounds good. Something different with which to complement or perhaps accent more standard drum kits. Well worth getting.
Let’s talk trash!
What a waste, wheeling around with this garbage!
I refuse to say anything disposable about this app.
Total rubbish, and I mean that in the best possible sense.
A total throw away item.
Can I suggest a recycling bin as a follow up based on a jaw harp?
Love to the Caelum project!
Unironically a lifesaver for riddim production
Making riddim basses in GarageBand is usually a headache and a half. But with this plug-in, especially set to "Wheelie Good Guitar", it sounds almost professional. I legitimately dropped a track using Dustbin during a live set.
Fantastic!
One of my favorite AUV3 plugins. Truly amazingly modeled sound. I don’t understand how someone could give it one star. 5 stars!!!!
