Description

DVDFab Remote is a handy mobile app designed for DVDFab users to monitor on their smart phone screens what is happening in DVDFab client, when they are not sitting in front of their computer screens while DVDFab is doing its own jobs, no matter in what modules, Copy, Ripper, Converter or Creator.
Users can check real-time task progress on their smart phone screens, like which task has completed successfully, which has failed, which is still waiting in the task queue, along with other detailed information like complete percentage, and estimated time remaining etc.
When there is a popup dialog appearing in DVDFab client and certain actions are required, DVDFab Remote will immediately receive a push notification telling users what is happening. At this point, users will have to go to their computers to perform certain actions accordingly. In addition, the notifications may also include DVDFab 10 update and promotion information.

DVDFab Remote Reviews

Great premise but a couple of issues and no updates for 3 years

Love the software. Love the concept for this app. The dvd fab software cannot be found through the scanning feature. I have to input the IP address manually. This wouldn’t be a problem, except it loses the IP address if I go to another app on my phone or if the phone goes to sleep. I see some others have had this issue even 3 years ago. I have put in a ticket. Will post an update if I hear back.

Not updated in years

The application does not remember the IP address, it’s been reported for years, I don’t understand how the developer can’t fix such a simple bug. This app would be very useful, but because this has not been fixed, it’s virtually useless.

Frustrating

Why can’t the app do something as simple as remembering your IP address. Pointless if you have to add it manually every time you open it.

Doesn’t work

Are used to work in the past I connect with my PC but no longer communicates. Scans for my PC while it’s making a copy of a movie. I would like to know the status but the app does not communicate or recognize my PC running the DVDfab app.

Great app

I love this app. I can just start a process and walk away and get notifications on my phone of the status of my process. Easy!

Decent, could be amazing

Handy to see conversions in progress. There are 3 things I fee this app needs to be great. 1. Ability to remember IPs, I have to add manually and every time I close the app I have to re-add even though the IP stays the same. Fixing/improving auto-discovery would also work. 2. Ability to cancel a conversion (I have had times they will stick and simply increase time to completion. It would be nice to cancel the attempt remotely/from my phone. 3. Ability to tell a conversion’s title to either auto rename/overwrite if name already exists. Just give the options already present in dvdfab to be available in the app The app right now is decent. Having these 3 things added would make it absolutely amazing. I am sure this is very low priority though since it’s free.

Useless when it finds server but claims no task

Worked great in the past. Stopped working earlier this year on my iPhone 8 and still broke on my 11. Was great but now only worthy of a delete after checking.

Never connects

I had this app before and every time I went to scan it couldn’t locate my DVD fab on my computer even though it was running. I typed in the IP address and it kept telling me it was invalid. Months later I Deleted the app and reinstalled it and tried again, the same thing happened. The app is now deleted for good. Spent too much time trying to get this to work. Great idea though.
