This comment details an unfortunate situation that one of our fellow soldiers has experienced. At the request of another comrade through a mobile phone app, he attempted to provide a payslip. As a result, his login credentials were completely disabled. Since March, he has been unable to access his payslip. This is especially problematic because printed paysheets were discontinued following the implementation of this app system, leaving him with no alternative means to obtain his payslip. Ironically, while a bank account app issue can be resolved with a simple phone call, there is no proper troubleshooting method for this seemingly less complex app. He has now been instructed to travel to his unit from his current place of service to meet with the commanding officer and subsequently inform the Directorate of Information Technology. The Directorate has advised the commanding officer to reprimand him for his actions. (Who will bear his travel expenses? What is his fault in trying to help a fellow soldier?) The impracticality of their procedures leaves these hardworking individuals without payslips. Furthermore, many soldiers are not familiar with smartphones and new technology, with some still using basic button phones. The current system's inefficiency and lack of support are causing significant inconveniences, which need to be addressed urgently.
