If you decline precise location it doesn’t fall back to using the home address you provided. “Contact us” just shows a map of where county hall is and a website link. I prefer to put bins out in the morning so notifications the night before doesn’t really add much value. Will check again later to see if improves.
Pointless app, It sent one alert for bin collections and seemed to work. Now the notifications don’t appear (or are hidden) and i’m looking outside each morning at 6:30 to see if the neighbours have their bins out, which defeats the purpose of having the app.
App not worked since I downloaded it, reinstalled still did not work, the text message reminder worked perfectly fine so if it ain’t broke don’t fix it,
Really like this App, much better than the text messaging and alerts that I used to get. App is really easy to navigate and looks great - well done East Riding - imagine that it’s a much cheaper way to communicate and service us residents.
I have had one notification since I installed. Gone back to old fashioned writing it on the calender.
Got this app because the council has stopped texting bin collection reminders and tried to put this on an app instead. I’ve not had one reminder from this app. I’ve changed my iPhone settings as well as the app settings. Getting a text reminder was so much easier! Why did they stop that?!!?
Not sure what or why people have an issue with this, as it does exactly what it is meant to do; tell you to put your bin out. Set it up when you want the notifications to come through and boom, surprise surprise, it’s there on your phone and shows in your iPhone Notifications until deleted! As for comments about a notification being an incredibly important part of today’s society; do you not have neighbours and therefore see everyone else’s bins have been put out?!?
The text message service has stopped for bin collection and I have downloaded this app. However the only section I require doesn’t work. It’s just continuously loading on the waste collection link.
I only have this app to remind me about bin collections and it does a poor job of that. One reminder on my Lock Screen and then as soon as I unlock the phone nothing. It is so easy to miss and it’s vital that we put bins out on time as it’s a massive hassle in today’s society otherwise. This app misses the opportunity to be really clever and nag users every hour until they positively acknowledge that the bin has been put out.
