EasyStart App No longer working

After initiating the app and connecting an error is displayed regarding “failure to read data”

Decent for free

Other soft start units don't have any connectivity. The app is basic. Like others say, when the AC shuts off, so does the EasyStart and so does the connection and the data is not saved, either. Screenshot away, folks. The Bluetooth range is weak and, of course, next to zero (but still usable) if you mount the EasyStart inside the AC panel. It's useful for monitoring the initial learning and troubleshooting, but don't expect it to be an always-on IoT type of experience.

Needs improvement, to be more useful…

The app, itself, works well. Being able to see real time status of the air conditioner is nice, BUT the fact that the app shows there are faults, but doesn’t tell you what the faults are, is extremely unhelpful. There is an option to send the fault log to the developer, and I assume they will tell you what the faults are, but it would be much more useful to have the app just show you what they are…. If it can determine and log that there are faults, there’s no reason why it can’t tell you what they are.

Great product

Great app for easy start, Good at what it does. Low amps on startup shown on app. But there is a bug in the app and it crashes when I try and connect to the device now. Hope some one sees this. Make a patch please. Using an iPhone 14pro max TY!

Weak Bluetooth

Bluetooth connectivity is week, other devices around the house don’t have connectivity issues. I have two easy start units, for a 5 ton and a 4 ton. I have to be literally 10ft away from units inside the house to be able to connect and still some times I get connection errors. When faults are shown I have no way to see what they are. Have to send the report in to them and wait for their response and directions, that sometimes are not very clear to follow. AC has to be running to be able to connect to the units. In my case I can only connect if I am 10ft from units, if I am away from the house and AC is working I can’t connect at all.

Easy setup

Wired soft start up and downloaded app. Easy to use interface. Works as it should. Have not had to use it for any faults yet.

Works well with a couple needs

You can easily discover and import a new EasyStart module without any advanced steps. Compressor must be running to discover or read data from. Two things that would be nice to include: 1) the current compressor session runtime 2) the ability to see what it actually read as a fault. All I can see in the app are options on what to include as a fault but no where to read the faults.

Too Easy

Device took 5 minutes to install and app immediately connected to it without even a hassle, something I'm not used to with any “smart”devices especially Bluetooth. First run and it started the compressor with only 20 amps smoothly, quickly and quietly when normally it took over 100. Glad to see there’s an American company out there that still cares about quality. Very happy customer. Keep it up!

Could be better

The compressor must be on for the app to work. Bluetooth range is very small, have to be at a window right near the unit or be outside next to it in order to connect. The app does not remember any data so as soon as connection is lost, so is the data. It would have been much better to have a wi-fi version. Fix these issues and it would get 5 stars.
