Description

Echobatix is a subscription app that provides text accessibility and barcode reading for people who are blind, low vision, or have difficulty reading printed text. You can interact with touch screens, control panels, and inkprint text, read text on objects in your hand, and find words such as room numbers and business signs. You can also read UPC barcodes for approximately 2.8 million grocery items.
The app is available as a monthly or annual subscription. A one-week free trial provides access to all features. The first time the app starts you'll select a monthly or annual subscription. Then your one-week free trial begins. During the one-week free trial you'll have access to ALL features of Echobatix, including Explore, Read, Find, and Barcode modes. After the one-week free trial your renewable monthly or annual subscription begins with continued access to all features. You can cancel your subscription at any time.
In Explore mode, hear words spoken aloud as you move your index finger across a surface with text. In Read mode, hear your iOS device read text read aloud from an object in your hand. In Find mode, use the keyboard, Braille input, or dictation to enter one or more words to find. In Barcode mode, point your iOS device at a UPC code to hear a short description for a grocery store item. Use the Help screen to access training, to provide feedback, or to review your subscription.

You can also access the link for the web-based training pages from within the app: activate the Help button, then activate the Training button.
Echobatix works with VoiceOver, Larger Text, and dark mode. If VoiceOver is not enabled, then the Echobatix app generates speech using the default voice.
Over the past few years we have developed and tested our point and speak capability for mobile devices and smart glasses. Our team, half of which is blind, is committed to continual innovation, including a patent pending for upcoming features. The Echobatix app is a tool to exercise your right to accessibility.
