Tried to use app to connect to a set of S1000W bookshelf speakers. The "Setup" image shows how to set up MS50A speakers, not how to set up the S1000Ws. I stumbled my way through set up, however, and was able to connect the speakers to the WiFi network, so I could use AirPlay to play music. But they don't show up in the Edifier app as connected, so I can't update firmware or make any changes to the settings. Tried 10 or more times, even tried deleting and reinstalling the app; continues to fail in exactly the same way. Edit: received an email from Edifier support two days later saying the app had been fixed and to delete & reinstall. Did that, and it's now working properly.
Every time I open the app it pops up 3 modal dialogs asking for Bluetooth, location, etc. It shouldn’t ask every time, and it doesn’t need any of that to control WiFi speakers.
It seems that this app only works with the S1000W speakers. Lack of instruction and information. Wish I never bought Edifyer speakers. Great sound miserable support.
Really no complaints. I don't understand why people are having such a hard time with the app. I unboxed my new S1000W's, plugged them in, downloaded the app, it discovered them immediately, as soon as I entered my WiFi password, the app offered to update the firmware. Took about 3 minutes, after which the speakers were ready to use. I "see" them in Spotify, AirPlay, and Bluetooth. All inputs work fine, including the optical. Sound is great and I'm sure will improve slightly after break-in. So far I'm happy with the purchase.
Was easily able to pair my speakers with my WiFi and get them working with Spotify and Airplay. There was an initial firmware update that was also easy. Surprised to see the low score here. I’m all about hating on terrible apps but the worst thing so can say about this one is some of the translations were poor. Love the quality of products Edifier continues to put out. Only possible improvement would be Chromecast support native to this speaker.
Speakers will not show up no matter what, these wifi/Bluetooth speakers now became Bluetooth only speakers, disappointing.
Incredible sound quality, take a few moments to setup but overall pretty good
App doesn’t work at all. Also app is half in English and half in Chinese.
