A powerful, flexible graphing calculator

Does far more than most calculators out there.

Features:

1) Scientific Calculator. Simple to grasp and easy to use, but powerful features are available when you need them. Available functions include the following:

• the usual arithmetic functions and exponentiation.
• square root, cube root, nth root, natural log, log base 10, log of arbitrary base, absolute value, factorial, permutations (nPr), combinations (nCr), modulus, random integer, bell curve, cumulative normal distribution, decimal to fraction.

2) Graphing. Capabilities:

• Graph up to four equations at once.
• Graphs are labeled.
• You can drag the graph or pinch to zoom in or out.
• Calculator can find roots and intersections.
• Graph in polar coordinates.
• Graph parametric equations
• Can graph implicit functions, such as x^2+y^2-4=0. Most calculator apps can't do this!

3) A unit converter. With a tap, you can enter the result of your conversion into the calculator. Currently converts different units of the following: acceleration, angle, area, density, distance, energy, force, mass, power, pressure, speed, temperature, time, and volume. Great for doing physics homework!

4) Constants for scientific calculations -- speed of light, strength of gravity at Earth's surface, etc. etc. etc. Tapping on a constant will insert it into your calculation -- i.e, you don't have to key in the value. Again, great for doing physics homework!

5) It can make a table of the values of any function you care to enter. You can choose the starting x value of the table, as well as how much x increases for each successive row.

6) Help screens linked directly to many of the available functions and constants. Tap the disclosure arrow to see the definition.

7) Forgot the quadratic formula? Or the double-angle formulas for sine and cosine? The math/science reference hits the high points of various subjects. Currently includes algebra, differential and integral calculus, geometry, trigonometry, vectors, vector calculus, and classical mechanics.

8) Keep track of significant figures [AKA sig figs]

9) Statistics -- enter data and make a histogram, box and whisker plot, or scatter plot with optional regression line.

Great calculator

I use this calculator all the time. It is a great tool. Kudos to the developer.

Awesome!

This app is great! Its such a useful tool for any student of science or engineering. It's particularly good for examining complicated functions against similar expressions at the same time. I use this to plot graphs of functions I don't fully understand and then tweak the variables/constants to see what happens and learn how and where the curve changes. The only way it could be better is if it showed the expressions in the correct formalism, i.e. the way you actually write it down yourself instead of that awful linear type, which i just hate so much - not a problem though. It would be nice to add another variable too, e.g. f(x,y) with accompanying data table. Then it would be amazing! Right now I don't care, I'm upgrading to the full version stat!

So nearly what I wanted

My issue is when I copy a previous line with "ans" in it it uses the answer from when that line was last used rather than the current answer, which is a show-stopper for me, alas, as it was really great otherwise (well the copy/paste issue mentioned in another review would have been an issue for me too, if I had got that far). So close to four-five stars, I guess I had better try calca/soulver/tydlig now... 😞

Couldn't ask for more

My only issues with this app is that I can't clear the history of what I've calculated, and a lack of a few luxury features (which are in the paid version). It's far better than I expected and the reference function is a life saver when I forget stuff. I couldn't ask for more.

Calc

Shows 1 gill equals 250 pints. Is this the only error???

Graph calc

I would like to give it plenty of stars as the content is superb. I have been unable to plot a simple graph due to lack of understanding of how to use the equations. The help section is all too brief. I feel that this app has been cleverly created but poorly explained. R

Great app as a graphing calculator and a study aid for AS an A2. Very useful!

Excellent

Really helped my 11 year old to understand the relationships for quadratics. I am sure the app will help with other areas of maths.

AS, A2 and UNI

Used this throughout my AS and A2 maths and have just stared using it for uni. The graph function is visually better than any graphical calculator. Would recommend to anyone taking maths

Amazing

This app has everything I need and more for my higher Maths classes, and school in general. A great tool to keep in your pocket, it almost replaces my normal graphing calculator, and it's free! More than I would expect from a free app.
