Buy the paid version, it is such a deal!! This is the best designed drum machine iphone app I’ve tried; it actually works so well i feel like i don’t need hardware. Getting started is fast and easy, all the controls work well even on the small screen of my iphone 13mini. Thank you for making knobs that always work perfectly with a touch screen, that’s a rare thing!! It is faithful to all the features and workflows that make an 808 so fun to use with the added benefit of a graphical sequencing screen that’s easy to switch back and forth into. It just works as it should and lets you create the beats you want to create, with no fussing around in submenus. Perfect!! The sounds are great too, really faithful to the original! The only reason you might prefer the hardware over this is if you want to go back and forth tweaking multiple volumes and tone controls, in the app you have to select an instrument separately to see its individual controls. Song mode is to the right if you swipe and it’s great for laying out a whole song so that you can start it up and let it go while you play smoother instrument etc. really intuitive and well thought out!

Does not acknowledge my purchase when using on ipad.

But what’s the difference between this and pro?

Can’t change note value of sequencer, very very very low output with no master volume control, free version has huge banner and you’re only a couple accidental clicks away from upgrading, practically a scam

I guess the developers never seen or used TR-808, they just made app based on lite google research and quick basic sample pack download. The MARACAS sample don’t exists?! / CLAVE / RIMSHOT - MARACAS / CLAP - switches are not implemented on the interface. Without it, I give it 2 stars.

If this app didn’t drain the battery, I would give it another star. The last star missing is this is overpriced. The iMPC Pro 2.0 is same price as this and does a myriad more.

This app is absolute garbage. It locked my phone to the pay screen and I had to restart TWICE to get back control of my phone and delete this piece of trash.

sounds ok. free version locks up your phone until you either buy app or hard restart. lame.

I’ve only used the free version but I’ve used owned a 909, 808, 707, and so on. Really convenient for just practicing/song writing. Put it through a blue tooth or PA. Throw a little reverb on and you’re good. If you can’t 4 track a decent lofi album with this then you shouldn’t be writing music. You could easily emulate Beach House or many commercial bands if you know what you’re doing. I don’t know what this rookie I play a BC Rich with dead strings review about being manipulated in to purchasing is about. Go by a Boss dr rhythm and hit play if you don’t know how to step or tap sequence. I’ve had free version for a couple years and never accidentally purchased anything. I’m about to purchase to support this product as a traveling musician who always appreciates a little rhythm in his pocket. Sincerely, someone with common sense.
