Egnyte

I spent quite a while searching for a suitable web-based file sharing and storage solution for my business and came across Egnyte. I was immediately impressed by the clean, professionally designed website, which extended to the user interface of the actual software itself on both the mobile and desktop versions. Unlike many other platforms, which I found to be clunky, awkward and smacking of unprofessionalism, the Egnyte platform was quite the opposite: clean, logically presented and a pleasure to use. Even the mobile app is slick, clean and fast! I expected that I'd have to pay quite a bit for the service but was pleasantly surprised to find that it fell within my small business budget. I was also pleased to find that it was easy to install and worked seamlessly on both the PCs and Macs in the office without the need for any specialist IT assistance. I can honestly say that Egnyte has revolutionised our business by improving our efficiency and productivity (it feels like we are using an internal server that everyone can easily access) whilst ensuring the peace of mind that comes from off-site storage and the convenience of being able to access all our office information from absolutely anywhere! We use a lot of freelancers so I needed a service that could also allow for easy file sharing and collaboration with them. Egnyte does that. I like the fact that you can save documents directly onto the Egnyte server, or into an Egnyte folder on your hard drive that you can set to sync real-time as you are working (making them immediately available to other workers) or at pre-determind intervals for those who have poor or limited internet connection. I also found Egnyte technical support to be outstanding. We experienced problematic internet not too long ago - VERY slow and sometimes intermittent - which resulted in our real-time syncing not working properly (note: this is not an Egnyte problem - it would affect any real-time web-based file sharing solution, and as a design and publishing agency, we transfer particularly large files!) Egnyte support was fantastic. They got back to me promptly and then arranged to have a specialist consultant call me to troubleshoot the problem, which he did at the time arranged. Unfortunately, our connection deteriorated to the point where working real-time on the server became impossible, as did uploading large files. Our internet fibre line finally arrived and we've not looked back. Everything is functioning brilliantly again an

Does everything needed quickly

I work for a GC and Egnyte just rocks for finding files on a file server while on a job site. Progress photos, plans, Subcontracts PDFs, etc…

I love this app! It’s a must for a business with multiple people working on the same projects and so much more.

Whenever I turn my iPad off this app prompts me to resign in and I get stuck in a loop of log in successfully then it kicks me to relogin again, and again

As an IT consultant that has been using this system for 12 years, it’s undoubtedly one of the most intuitive and exceptional services we use. One of the last companies with a great tech support that responds quickly and effectively. Our team loves it as does our clients. They’ve been way ahead of the game on configurations, management and features though some have caught up but still not as good. Highly recommended Egnyte for a hybrid cloud file system.

Lately the app constantly kicks me out on iOS/iPadOS. Seems to be a glitch from a recent update. No issues on other platforms.

I’m just learning this App and I’m loving it so much. It seems to be everything I’ve ever needed. I would recommend it to anyone asking about this type of program.

Egnyte is perhaps the worst and least reliable cloud service in the planet. Do the positive reviewers actually use this app or the service? The whole point is collaboration which just doesn’t work on iOS or iPodOS (or anything else). Unacceptably high downtime. V poor integration with apple ecosystem. Try moving files back and forth with files app. Just try it. Do yourself a favor and use a modern cloud provider. iCloud, google, Dropbox, box, even share point. Just don’t waste your time with Egnyte.

App is difficult to use. Many steps just to do one thing. I’m not sure the purpose of app. It actually makes the process more cumbersome
